Launching Vietnam image promotion platform

In the context of Vietnam's increasingly deep and comprehensive international integration in all aspects of political, economic, cultural and social life, the Party and State pay special attention to communication, image promotion and provision of official information about Vietnam abroad.

Currently, nationwide, there are more than 250 foreign press agencies and more than 80 foreign language websites of ministries, branches and localities serving foreign information and propaganda work, not to mention many social media channels of organizations, businesses and individuals participating in promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people on cyberspace.

However, with the increasing demand for innovation in the field of journalism and media due to the strong development of digital technology and artificial intelligence, we need new, intelligent tools, platforms, and technology applications with outstanding features in processing and providing information, with the ability to access quickly, diversely, and best meet all readers' needs.

Realizing this problem, the Ministry of Information and Communications has assigned the Department of Foreign Information to upgrade the website https://vietnam.vn into a platform to promote Vietnam's image with the same domain name https://vietnam.vn , but with completely different features on a new technology platform.

https://vietnam.vn synthesizes information from over 100 major press agencies , 63 information portals of provinces and centrally-run cities and data sources of many organizations, businesses and individuals to update and provide information quickly and multi-dimensionally about Vietnam .

In addition to providing official information, https://vietnam.vn will continuously update information promoting localities ( Destinations section) ; synthesize beautiful images/videos about Vietnam (Multimedia section); digitize real Vietnam in digital space (Vietnam 3D section); introduce typical faces of the public (Figure section) and at the same time be an open forum for domestic and international audiences to express their views and perspectives on the country and people of Vietnam (Views section).

Viewers interested in the platform to promote Vietnam's image can access it directly at https://vietnam.vn or the website's official Fanpage is "vietnam.vn - Vietnam Information Portal" - https://www.facebook.com/congthongtinvietnam .

To target a wider audience of foreign readers, https://vietnam.vn has used Google Translate's automatic translation support tool to translate all content into 6 languages: English; French; German; Russian; Korean; Japanese. These languages will be the default when readers visit next time.

Https://vietnam.vn is also a digital exhibition platform. On the occasion of the platform launch today , the Department of Foreign Information launched the " Happy Vietnam 2023" Contest with the theme " For everyone's happiness". This is a photo and video clip contest for Vietnamese and foreigners around the world. The contest aims to encourage groups and individuals to participate in promoting the image of Vietnam with a prize structure of up to 400 million VND.

To build and operate the https://vietnam.vn platform , the Department of Foreign Information would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the valuable support and assistance of press agencies; electronic information portals of ministries, branches, localities; organizations, businesses, individuals owning social media channels... who have allowed us to exploit, use, and cite a variety of sources of information, photo and video materials to maintain and develop this platform.
