VietinBank promotes sustainable capital flow with Green Deposit product

The new “Green Deposit” product has been launched by VietinBank, adding a breakthrough product to the list of sustainable financial products and services that the Bank is providing to corporate customers. Sustainable development is one of the core strategies of VietinBank and the Bank has continuously developed green financial solutions, products and services to meet the sustainable development needs of businesses.

Recently, VietinBank has launched the “Green Deposit” product to mobilize sustainable capital for projects that benefit the community, society and the environment. Accordingly, the Green Deposit product includes term deposits and non-term deposits, applicable to VND, USD and EUR currencies. By adding the Green Deposit product to the Bank's comprehensive financial solutions portfolio, VietinBank hopes to create a meeting place for businesses with the same orientation towards sustainable development, thereby maximizing financial resources to serve projects that benefit the community and society. In addition, VietinBank also provides Green Deposit Certificates as a form of honoring the cooperation of corporate customers in creating a stable source of capital for sustainable development projects.

Previously, VietinBank issued a sustainable finance framework to provide specific guidelines for the funding and management of the Bank's sustainable development financing. VietinBank's sustainable finance framework has been assessed as "reliable and impactful" by Morning Star Sustainalytics, a leading ESG research, rating and data company. In addition to ensuring a stable source of capital for green projects, VietinBank also set aside VND5,000 billion in the Green UP green finance program to finance projects and plans that benefit the community and society. VietinBank is committed to always being a companion of the business community in the journey of sustainable development, through promoting the mobilization of sustainable financial flows, transferring green technology, low-carbon technology to adapt to climate change, etc., thereby supporting businesses to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2050 as committed by Vietnam at the United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP-26).
