Taiwan (China)'s organization of live-fire drills in the waters surrounding Ba Binh in Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago is a serious violation of Vietnam's sovereignty.
On June 8, in response to a reporter's question about Vietnam's reaction to Taiwan (China) conducting live-fire drills in the waters surrounding Ba Binh, part of Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago, on June 7, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stated:
"Vietnam has full legal basis and historical evidence to affirm its sovereignty over the Truong Sa archipelago.
Taiwan (China)'s organization of live-fire drills in the waters surrounding Ba Binh in Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago is a serious violation of Vietnam's sovereignty over the archipelago, threatening peace, stability, safety, and maritime security, causing tension and further complicating the situation in the East Sea.
Vietnam resolutely protests and requests that Taiwan (China) cancel the above-mentioned illegal activities and not repeat similar violations in the future"./.
