On July 6, at a regular press conference, in response to a reporter's question requesting more information about the upcoming high-level delegation exchange between Vietnam and the United States, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated:
As you know, July 25th this year will mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership. On this occasion, the two sides have been organizing many commemorative activities, including high-level delegation exchanges. We will provide you with the contact activities between the two countries later.
In the first six months of 2023, Vietnam and the United States have had many contacts and delegation exchanges. On March 29, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a phone call with US President Joe Biden.
In April, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid a working visit to Vietnam. During the visit, Mr. Blinken paid a courtesy call to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; held talks with Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.
On June 25-30, the US aircraft carrier group, including the USS Ronald Reagan and two escort cruisers, visited Da Nang port. On July 25, Vietnam and the United States will celebrate 10 years of the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership.
