Vietnam will have 10 businessmen who are USD billionaires in the world, 5 most powerful businessmen in Asia

The Government's action program to implement Resolution 41 aims to have at least 10 Vietnamese businessmen on the list of world dollar billionaires and 5 most powerful businessmen in Asia by 2030.

On the morning of May 10, the Conference to disseminate and implement Resolution 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era took place in Hanoi.

The conference was organized by the Central Propaganda Department in coordination with the Central Economic Committee and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), combining in-person and online formats to more than 4,300 points nationwide.

The Party Committee of the Ministry of Planning and Investment connected online to the Conference. Attending at the bridge point of the Ministry of Planning and Investment were comrades of the Party Executive Committee of the agency; members of the Inspection Committee of Party Committees at all levels; Party Committee-level reporters; comrades of Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and Party Cell Committee members of Party Committees and Party Cells directly under the Party Committee of the agency.

The conference aims to raise awareness, responsibility, political determination, self-awareness, and exemplary spirit of Party committees, Party organizations, agencies, organizations, cadres, Party members, and business people to effectively implement Resolution 41 of the Politburo in accordance with functions, tasks, and practical situations in localities and agencies.

Reporting on the main content of Resolution 41, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, said that in October 2023, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong signed and issued Resolution 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period.

Accordingly, the Politburo set out the general goal of developing a large team of entrepreneurs in terms of quantity, quality, reasonable structure, vision, intelligence, ethics, entrepreneurial spirit, legitimate enrichment, dynamism, creativity, advanced management capacity, law compliance, ethics, business culture with national identity. Socially responsible, aware of environmental protection, making worthy contributions to the country's development goals.

Regarding the specific target, by 2030, the Politburo clearly stated the development of a team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs with the scale, capacity and qualifications to meet the goals of industrialization and modernization of the country; striving to have more and more enterprises reaching regional level, some enterprises reaching world level; some large enterprises playing a leading role in key industries and fields.

With a vision to 2045, the resolution clearly states the development of a Vietnamese business community with the scale, capacity and qualifications to meet the national development goals, high income, regional and international position and prestige. A part of the enterprises will have world brands, leading a number of global supply chains and value chains. The resolution also sets out 7 main groups of solutions and tasks in implementation.

"The resolution will soon come into effect to contribute to building a strong team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs who can make worthy contributions to the country's development goals," Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien stated.

Reporting on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution 41, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said that the Government has just issued Resolution No. 66 on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period.

Accordingly, the goal from now to 2030 is to have at least 2 million enterprises, of which many entrepreneurs will be formed and developed to lead strong economic groups with potential and competitiveness in the domestic and international markets, promoting the role of leading the way in important sectors and fields of the economy.

By 2030, at least 10 Vietnamese businessmen will be on the list of world USD billionaires, and 5 most powerful businessmen in Asia as voted by prestigious international organizations. By 2045, strive to have a number of businessmen owning corporations capable of leading industrial and agricultural value chains, moving towards forming a number of Vietnamese value chains in priority industries with the country's strengths.

The Action Program has identified the main contents, tasks and solutions for the Government, Central Ministries, branches and localities to focus on organizing and implementing in order to successfully achieve the goals set out in Resolution 41 of the Politburo, which will be implemented in the spirit of accompanying entrepreneurs and enterprises, taking entrepreneurs and enterprises as the objects of service, creating a favorable environment for entrepreneurs to invest and do business, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

Reporting on the Action Program of the VCCI Party Delegation to implement Resolution 41, Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of VCCI affirmed, “Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW issued by the 13th Politburo has created more motivation and confidence for the business community and Vietnamese entrepreneurs to develop and contribute. The business community and enterprises are facing unprecedented great opportunities.”

Based on the viewpoints, objectives, tasks and solutions stated in Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW; based on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW and based on its functions and tasks, VCCI has developed and issued an Action Program to lead and orient VCCI's activities in implementing Resolution 41-NQ/TW. Accordingly, the VCCI Party Delegation has proposed 8 groups of tasks and solutions and also identified which agencies and units will be responsible for implementing these tasks.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to building and developing the business community; emphasizing the important contributions of Vietnamese business people in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, in the coming time, domestic and regional issues will pose new challenges, requiring businesses and entrepreneurs to develop rapidly, sustainably and constantly innovate to take advantage of opportunities and overcome challenges; it is necessary to build and promote more strongly the role of the Vietnamese business community to make worthy contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia, after this conference, all levels, sectors and localities need to continue to organize conferences to thoroughly grasp the core content of the resolution to innovate thinking, unify awareness, build and promote the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period in the spirit of the Resolution of the Politburo; find out the causes and responsibilities to overcome limitations, ensure drastic, synchronous and effective implementation of the Resolution.
