At the reception, Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his joy and appreciation for the positive developments in Vietnam-China relations since the official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 30 - November 1, 2022). The Minister affirmed that Vietnam consistently considers the development of friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China as a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification.
Expecting that the bilateral relationship will enter a new stage of development after 15 years with many achievements of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that the two sides will continue to concretize high-level common perceptions, enhance strategic exchanges between leaders of the two countries, strongly promote and strive to achieve many specific progresses in each field of cooperation.

Accordingly, Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that the two sides will actively promote and coordinate to prepare well for high-level contacts in the coming time; achieve specific progress in cooperation areas including trade, investment, transport connectivity, railway construction cooperation, projects using Chinese aid capital as well as coordinate to handle difficulties in a number of cooperation projects.
Agreeing with Minister Bui Thanh Son, Assistant Minister Nong Dung affirmed that the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries is developing very well. In particular, after General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China, high-level exchanges and contacts between the two countries have been held regularly; exchanges and cooperation between the National Assembly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the National People's Congress, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and all levels, sectors and localities of the two sides have achieved many positive results. China is willing to work with Vietnam to increase high-level and all-level contacts, promote the signing of many cooperation documents in various fields, creating rich results for the bilateral relationship.

Regarding maritime issues, the two sides emphasized the importance of seriously implementing the agreements and common perceptions of the two Parties and two countries' senior leaders on maintaining peace and stability at sea. Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that both sides make efforts to control disagreements well, not allowing complicated incidents to occur, affecting the overall relations between the two countries and peace and stability in the region.
