Within the framework of the official visit to the State of Israel (July 23-25), on July 25, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed and appreciated the significance of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang's visit, especially on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1993-2023).

The Israeli Prime Minister expressed his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements; affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Israel and with complementary advantages, the two sides have great potential to enhance cooperation in all fields, especially in science and technology, creative startups, high-tech agriculture, water treatment technology and healthcare.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang expressed his pleasure to visit Israel, a country with a high level of development in science and technology, startups and innovation in the region; affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Israel, and is excited about the positive developments in the cooperative relationship between the two countries over the past 30 years.

The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's regards and invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to soon visit Vietnam.

Prime Minister B. Netanyahu happily accepted the invitation, expressing his hope to soon officially visit Vietnam, and at the same time invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to soon officially visit Israel.

Emphasizing that the two sides need to consider science, technology and high-tech agriculture as priority areas for cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed that Vietnam encourages and will create favorable conditions for Israeli enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam and share experiences in Israel's strengths such as startups, innovation, high-tech agriculture, information technology, etc.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang suggested that Israel increase the number of Vietnamese trainees it accepts each year, while speeding up negotiations and soon signing a labor cooperation agreement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the above cooperation proposals and said he would direct Israeli ministries and sectors to coordinate with the Vietnamese side to promote them.

The two sides agreed to further promote friendship and cooperation through measures such as increasing the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones; coordinating and supporting each other at international forums and organizations; promoting the exchange of business delegations, organizing trade and investment promotion activities, effectively exploiting the Vietnam-Israel Free Trade Agreement; and studying the early opening of direct flights between the two countries to promote economic cooperation, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

Right before the talks, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu witnessed the signing ceremony of the Vietnam-Israel Free Trade Agreement.

To soon implement the Agreement, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requested relevant agencies of the two countries to soon complete ratification procedures and inform the business community about the potential and opportunities brought by this Agreement.

The two sides expressed their belief that the Agreement will bring economic cooperation, especially trade and investment, between Vietnam and Israel to new heights, commensurate with the potential and aspirations of the Leaders and people of the two countries.
