Sharing the vision of the Indonesian President, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Mr. Widodo's visit to Vietnam, especially his opinions at the seminar, is of great significance, and at the same time creates motivation and inspiration for businesses to promote cooperation and investment.

Analyzing the current global context, the Prime Minister suggested that with its role in ASEAN, Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries should strengthen solidarity within ASEAN, for the development of each country and for the goal of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The Prime Minister welcomed the determination and efforts of businesses from both countries in development cooperation; said that after nearly 70 years of establishment, Vietnam-Indonesia relations have continuously developed, in which economic cooperation is a bright spot.

However, economic cooperation is not yet commensurate with the political relations and the stature of the two economies, as well as the wishes of both sides. Therefore, there is no reason why businesses of both countries should not explore opportunities and continue to connect and promote investment to realize high-level agreements and ideas and goals of the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Indonesian businesses that have invested in Vietnam, including very successful projects that have become models in economic cooperation between the two countries;

Vietnam encourages businesses to invest in emerging economic sectors such as Digital Economy, Green Economy, Circular Economy, Knowledge Economy, Sharing Economy and other sectors in which Indonesia has strengths and Vietnam has other needs such as Halal, agriculture...;

The Prime Minister hopes that Indonesian businesses will cooperate and support Vietnamese businesses to participate in the supply chain in Indonesia and globally.

Vietnam always creates the best conditions for businesses, including Indonesian businesses, to invest and do business stably, long-term and successfully, by perfecting institutions, infrastructure and human resources, with the motto "open policies and institutions, smooth infrastructure, smart governance" for businesses to invest conveniently.

Expressing support for President Joko Widodo's desire to attract investment to Indonesia's new capital, the Prime Minister suggested that Vietnamese businesses cooperate with Indonesia to soon achieve the set goals.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always protects the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, including Indonesian enterprises, in the spirit of “harmonized benefits, shared risks,” “harmonized interests between the State, people, and enterprises”; at the same time, always listens and dialogues with enterprises to actively consider and properly handle their proposals; hopes that enterprises “will do what they say, and do what they commit to with real effectiveness.”

Earlier that morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Indonesian President had breakfast together and discussed issues of mutual concern.

Indonesia remains Vietnam's third largest trading partner and Vietnam is Indonesia's fourth largest trading partner in ASEAN with trade turnover in the first 11 months of 2023 reaching nearly 13 billion USD.

The two sides strive to bring bilateral trade turnover to 15 billion USD soon and higher at 18 billion USD before 2028.
