On October 20, within the framework of his visit to Saudi Arabia and participation in the ASEAN-GCC Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit Saudi Arabia, attend the ASEAN-GCC Summit and affirmed that Vietnam is Saudi Arabia's leading important partner in Southeast Asia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia for their good feelings towards Vietnam and congratulated Saudi Arabia for coming up with the idea and successfully organizing the first summit of historic significance between ASEAN and the GCC.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also congratulated Saudi Arabia on its outstanding achievements, making it an important partner in the Middle East and the world.
At the talks, the two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, but said that there is still much potential and opportunity to further develop the friendship and cooperation for the common interests of the people of the two countries.
On that basis, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen good political and diplomatic relations through further strengthening delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level delegations, promoting cooperation to open markets and promote trade.
In addition, to create a breakthrough for investment cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Saudi Arabian Investment Funds consider large-scale investments in Vietnam's priority development areas such as green economy, innovation, high technology, industry, and renewable energy.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia said that he always believes in the future of Vietnam and hopes that Saudi Arabia will accompany Vietnam in this future. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia said that a leading energy corporation of the country, which is investing and doing business in Asia, has expressed its desire to expand its investment in the Vietnamese market.
Accordingly, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman will direct the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund to soon discuss and expand investment in Vietnam, especially in the energy sector, both traditional energy and especially in building a renewable energy industry.
Regarding cooperation in the field of human resources, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that the Royal Family and Government of Saudi Arabia increase the reception and continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens to do business and live in Saudi Arabia, contributing to the development of Saudi Arabia as well as being an effective bridge for the friendship between the two countries and peoples.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia to pay an official visit to Vietnam in 2024. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia said that he always wanted to visit Vietnam, so he will make the visit in 2024, the year the two countries celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations (1999-2024).
The two sides agreed to work together to develop a cooperation roadmap, identify specific investment projects and fields as well as business opportunities between businesses of the two countries, and are determined to promote cooperation between the two governments and between the two business communities, contributing to bringing bilateral relations to new heights.
