Meeting with President of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening the Comprehensive Partnership with Denmark.

On the afternoon of November 21 (local time), in the capital Copenhagen, within the framework of an official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with President of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade.

Warmly welcoming Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, President of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade believes that the Vice President's visit will create new momentum for the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries.

The President of the Danish Parliament expressed his impression of Vietnam's achievements in economic development and dynamic international integration, affirming that Vietnam is a leading important partner of Denmark in the Asia-Pacific region.

In an open and sincere atmosphere, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her pleasure to visit Denmark on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries; affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening the Comprehensive Partnership with Denmark.

The Vice President highly appreciated the role of the Danish Parliament in approving policies to help Denmark grow rapidly, sustainably, greenly, and ensure social security, as well as the Danish Parliament's interest and support for strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two countries, including the Danish Parliament's approval of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) in 2021.

President of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan agreed that the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Partnership has developed strongly and effectively in many fields in recent times.

In the coming time, the two sides need to continue to maintain delegation exchanges at all levels to increase political trust; effectively implement cooperation frameworks as well as promote the potential and strengths of both sides to promote in-depth and effective cooperation, especially in the fields of economics - trade - investment and new fields such as green transformation and renewable energy.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan asked the Danish Parliament to support the European Commission (EC) in removing the IUU yellow card for Vietnamese seafood exports. Vice President Soren Gade said he is ready to support Vietnam in discussing this issue with European Union (EU) agencies.

The two sides shared the importance of promptly implementing the Joint Statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, which was recently approved by the two Prime Ministers, as well as effectively cooperating to implement the Declaration on a Just Energy Transition (JETP) between Vietnam and a group of international partners, especially in terms of institution building, infrastructure, technology transfer, and human resource training.

Affirming that the inter-parliamentary relationship between the two countries is an important cooperation channel, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Partnership, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the Speaker of the Danish Parliament agreed that the two sides should continue to effectively implement cooperation and coordination agreements between the two countries' National Assemblies, increase exchanges of delegations of National Assembly leaders and committees, in order to share information and experience in the fields of legislation, supervision and decision-making on major national issues.

On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan conveyed the invitation of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to the Danish National Assembly Chairman to visit Vietnam.

The Speaker of the Danish Parliament acknowledged the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community living and integrating in the host country, helping to serve as a bridge to help consolidate and strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.

Regarding regional and international issues of mutual concern, Speaker of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade agreed that disputes and disagreements should be resolved in accordance with international law. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Speaker of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade also agreed that the two sides should continue to strengthen close cooperation and support each other at international forums, especially at the United Nations, as well as in the preparation and organization of the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in Vietnam in 2025.

Also on November 21 (local time), Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Founding Board Member Chrristina G. Sorensen and many senior leaders of CIP welcomed the Vice President to visit the group.

At the meeting, founding board member Christina G. Sorensen and senior leaders of CIP introduced basic information about the group's formation and development process as well as renewable energy and green energy projects that the group is currently implementing around the world.

CIP leaders said that Asia is currently the largest market for offshore wind development and Vietnam is one of CIP's key markets.

CIP Group is very impressed with Vietnam's plans for renewable energy development and green energy transition and believes that CIP and its offshore wind power projects will contribute to promoting Vietnam's energy transition. CIP leaders hope that Vietnam will soon complete the policy framework, creating favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to invest in Vietnam's energy sector, allowing CIP to conduct field surveys to soon put the projects into implementation.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her impression of the achievements that CIP Group has made in the field of green energy in recent times. The Vice President affirmed that Vietnam always welcomes foreign enterprises, including CIP, to invest in Vietnam's priority development areas, including renewable energy, in line with Vietnam's investment attraction orientation and Vietnam's Power Plan VIII, in order to firmly ensure national energy security, meet the requirements of socio-economic development and industrialization and modernization of the country.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan asked relevant ministries, branches and localities to continue coordinating with the group to discuss the implementation of specific projects to realize the proposed ideas.

At the meeting, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan also listened to leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province discuss specifically issues of interest to CIP.

After the meeting, the Vice President and his delegation visited CIP's wind farm and some typical sustainable development projects in Copenhagen.

Established in 2012, CIP is the world's leading group in the field of renewable energy, especially offshore wind power. The group has mobilized large capital (about 25 billion Euro, managing 11 funds, with more than 500 employees, having offices in many countries around the world), investing in many green energy infrastructure projects (wind power, solar power, biomass, etc.).

In Vietnam, CIP is developing the La Gan offshore wind project off Binh Thuan province and several other projects in the early stages of development.
