At the invitation of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang and Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 15th Annual Meeting of WEF Pioneers held in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China from June 24 to 27.
WEF values Vietnam's position
The 2024 WEF Dalian Conference with the theme "New Growth Horizons" is the second largest in scale after the WEF Davos Conference with the participation of 1,600 delegates, organized with the spirit of being a place to converge and create new ideas, new fields, pioneering and innovative models that will shape future economic sectors.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of the few heads of government invited by WEF and host country China to attend the conference for two consecutive years. This shows that WEF and China highly value Vietnam's position, role and contribution to global economic growth as well as Vietnam's development vision for the economy in the future.
Therefore, according to Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh, the Prime Minister's working trip to attend the WEF Dalian Conference this year has many important meanings.
Firstly, the conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to grasp and contribute its voice to new issues, trends, new contents, new driving forces for world economic growth, and to exchange development and governance thinking at the national and global levels.
Second, the conference is an opportunity to promote our country's achievements in economic and social growth and development, conveying a strong message about Vietnam as a dynamic and innovative country, an attractive destination for global corporations.
Third, the conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen exchanges and promote relations with countries, partners and international organizations, affirming our country's role and position in the international community, contributing to effectively implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.
Stable development of Vietnam - China relations
On this occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai gave an interview to the press about Vietnam-China relations. According to Ambassador Pham Sao Mai, 2025 is the year the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025). Over the past time, thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, Vietnam-China relations have maintained a stable development momentum and achieved many positive results.
After two historic mutual visits by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 2022) and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping (December 2023), the two Parties and two countries have established a new position for bilateral relations, building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China of strategic significance, adding strong momentum for the two Parties and two countries to continuously consolidate and strengthen the friendly neighborly relationship and comprehensive cooperation.
To further promote the potential and strengths of the Vietnam-China relationship, in the coming time, the two countries need to maintain close coordination at all levels, channels, and in all fields, and strengthen the review and assessment of the implementation of the common perception reached by the top leaders of the two Parties.
