On the evening of June 23, at the International Convention Center (Hanoi), President Vo Van Thuong and his wife hosted a solemn reception to welcome President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, who are on a state visit to Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, President Vo Van Thuong recalled that more than 800 years ago, the Ly family of Vietnam settled in and participated in protecting and building the country of Korea. Today, the two countries have become each other's leading important partners, supporting and helping each other for the common development of the two countries.

Recalling the Korean saying: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," the President said that upgrading the Vietnam-Korea relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has opened a new journey with a longer vision and higher goals. The visit to Vietnam by the Korean President this time is of great significance for the journey that Vietnam and Korea will take together in the spirit of "good friends, good partners, good in-laws."

In the context of rapid and complicated international and regional developments, the President emphasized that strengthening Vietnam-Korea relations is in line with the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries, making practical contributions to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and prosperous development in the region and the world.

"In that spirit, we will join hands and efforts to foster the good relationship between the two countries to further develop," the President wished.

For his part, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol repeated President Ho Chi Minh's saying: "For the benefit of 10 years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, educate people."

President Yoon Suk Yeol said that the saying means investing in people, training talents for the long-term future. This is also very true in promoting the relationship between Korea and Vietnam. The two countries are deeply connected through people-to-people exchanges, and the people of the two countries will make the two countries closer together, opening up an even brighter future.

Along with the strong growth in trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, a large number of Koreans residing in Vietnam and Vietnamese people residing in Korea are important bridges to contribute to bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new height./.
