Vietnam and Korea have many similarities and opportunities for cooperation in digital technology, especially in the field of digital government development and digital human resources.
On the morning of November 6, the Vietnam - Korea Digital Forum took place in Hanoi. This is the third time this forum has been held to promote policy sharing between government agencies and exchange and cooperation between digital enterprises of the two countries.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam, Mr. Phan Tam affirmed that the Forum is a promising space to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of information technology and communications.
The world is being dominated bydigital transformation . Based on the foundation of many new technologies, the core of which is digital technology (artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, Internet of Things...), digital transformation is creating new development space, digital government, digital economy, digital society for every country.
Digital technology and digital transformation have been identified as the core of all rapid and sustainable growth models in many countries. Vietnam has identified the dual goal of developing a digital government, digital economy, and digital society, while forming Vietnamese digital technology enterprises with global competitiveness, to realize the aspiration of a strong and prosperous Vietnam, with prosperous, well-off and happy people.

According to Deputy Minister Phan Tam, Korea is a leading country in the field of digital technology and an important partner of Vietnam. Vietnam and Korea have many similarities and opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of digital government development and digital human resources.
In recent times, the two countries have had specific and practical cooperation activities such as human resource training, capacity building for Vietnamese agencies, consultation on the development of the Law on Electronic Transactions, the Law on Digital Technology Industry, etc.
Deputy Minister Phan Tam hopes that through the forum, Vietnam and Korea can share experiences and promote cooperation between the two countries, thereby finding many new cooperation opportunities.

Sharing with the forum from Korea, Mr. Park Yun Kyu, Deputy Minister of Science, ICT and Communications of Korea, said that the Korean Government is also enhancing digital capacity, popularizing digital technology in all economic and social aspects, and establishing a national digital strategy to ensure that innovation in which people play a leading role will be stabilized, thereby becoming a leading digital country.
This year, the Korean government has been enhancing the competitiveness of artificial intelligence, which is the core of digitalization, covering all aspects of people's lives with this technology, and establishing and promoting a plan to increase the use of AI nationwide.
Korea will actively share with Vietnam the achievements of the digital policy it is promoting, and will make every effort to build a digital planet where we all grow digitally.

According to Vice Minister Park Yun Kyu, after President Yoon Suk Yeol's visit to Vietnam in June, the two countries had active and diverse exchanges to develop digital cooperation.
In June, Korea and Vietnam also met to discuss key topics such as increasing participation in major digital events, plans to enhance cooperation and exchanges between businesses, etc. Following that, Vietnam and Korea also held an online meeting at the deputy minister level in August.
The two governments also discussed practical cooperation programs for the two countries to develop strongly in digital technology in the future. According to Deputy Minister Park Yun Kyu, this is the starting point for the two countries to achieve results. In that context, the 3rd Vietnam - Korea Digital Forum will be an opportunity for cooperation in the field of IT and digital transformation between the two countries, such as digital technology policy, technology development, human resource training, etc.
Mr. Jeong Sung - Deputy Director of the Korea Information and Communications Technology Industry Promotion Agency said that the Forum will also be an important information channel for Vietnam and Korea to exchange and find solutions to global issues.
“ Based on the solid trust in the comprehensive strategic partnership, Vietnam and Korea will together address new challenges in general and continue to maintain close cooperation and exchange in the field of digital transformation in particular ,” said the Deputy Director of the Korea ICT Industry Promotion Agency.
