The two sides highly appreciated and expressed their joy at the positive developments in the Vietnam-China relationship in recent times; affirmed that they will continue to attach importance to each other's role and the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
The two sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the Joint Statement during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China (October 2022) and the specific results achieved during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's recent visit to China (June 2023).
The two sides agreed to further enhance high-level and all-level exchanges and contacts, promote cooperation in all fields, especially economy and trade, transport connectivity, and exchanges between people and localities of the two countries, and work together to maintain a peaceful and stable environment in the region.
Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that the two sides will maintain and improve the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms, including coordinating to well organize the 15th meeting of the Vietnam - China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee in Vietnam.
Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that China continue to expand its import of goods and accelerate the process of opening its market for Vietnamese goods, especially agricultural and aquatic products and fruits; and coordinate to maintain smooth customs clearance in the context of Vietnamese agricultural products entering the peak harvest season.
The Minister also proposed that China increase the quota of Vietnamese goods transiting by Chinese railway to third countries; strengthen traffic and border gate connections; accelerate the implementation of a number of cooperation projects between the two countries; coordinate well in managing the land border, speed up the opening and upgrading of agreed pairs of border gates, and soon put the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China) into pilot operation.

Appreciating the cooperation proposals of Minister Bui Thanh Son, Politburo member Wang Yi suggested that the two sides coordinate and support each other in implementing the country's modernization; enhance high-quality connectivity between the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the "Two Corridors, One Belt" Framework; and affirm that it will create favorable conditions for Vietnam to make more effective use of China's support capital.
The two sides agreed to effectively implement high-level agreements and common perceptions, properly control and handle disagreements, strive to maintain peace and stability at sea, fully and effectively implement the DOC, and work with ASEAN countries to soon reach a substantive and effective COC in accordance with international law, including international conventions on the sea, contributing to ensuring peace, stability and freedom of navigation in the region as well as the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the parties.
The two sides also agreed to promote the role of bilateral mechanisms in territorial and maritime border issues.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed a number of international and regional issues of mutual concern; committed to continuing to closely coordinate at regional and international forums and cooperation mechanisms, including those led by ASEAN.
