On May 10, the Central Propaganda Department chaired and coordinated with the Central Economic Committee and the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize a conference to disseminate and implement Resolution 41-NQ/TW, dated October 10, 2023, of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period.

Reporting on the main contents of the resolution, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, said that as of March 2024, the country had about 920,000 operating enterprises, about 32,000 cooperatives, and 5.2 million non-agricultural individual economic establishments, with the number of entrepreneurs reaching millions.

By the end of 2022, Vietnam had 172 enterprises and 325 products that were national brands. Among them, there were a number of brands that had made a splash and affirmed their value in the international market.

According to Mr. Hien, the general goal is to develop a strong team of entrepreneurs in terms of quantity, quality, reasonable structure, vision, intelligence, ethics; social responsibility, environmental protection awareness, making worthy contributions to the country's development goals.

By 2030, develop a team of entrepreneurs with scale, capacity and qualifications to meet the goals of industrialization and modernization of the country. Strive to have more and more enterprises reaching regional level, some enterprises reaching world level.

Some large enterprises have leading roles in key industries and sectors; some enterprises have important positions in the global supply chain, and are internationally competitive in fundamental industries.

Vision by 2045: Develop a team of entrepreneurs with scale, capacity and qualifications to meet the national development goals, high income, regional and international position and reputation; a part of enterprises with world brands, leading a number of global supply chains.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said that the Government's Action Program sets specific targets of having at least 2 million enterprises by 2030. The business sector contributes about 65-70% of the country's GDP.

There are at least 70 enterprises with market capitalization of over 1 billion USD, 120 enterprises with net revenue of over 1 billion USD. There are at least 10 businessmen on the list of world USD billionaires, 5 most powerful businessmen in Asia voted by prestigious world organizations.

Create an equal and favorable environment for business development

Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), said that based on the 7 main groups of tasks and solutions of Resolution No. 41, the Government's action program, functions and tasks, the VCCI Party Delegation has proposed 8 groups of tasks and solutions.

In particular, raising awareness of the position and role of the business community in realizing the country's development goals. Proactively and actively participating in building and perfecting legal policies and creating a favorable, safe and equal investment and business environment. Building business ethics and culture, promoting national spirit, arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to building and developing the business community and emphasized the important contributions of the business community in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested that all levels, sectors and localities thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the main tasks and solutions set out in Resolution No. 41; focus on perfecting policies and laws, creating a favorable, safe and equal investment and business environment for entrepreneurs and enterprises to develop and contribute.
