Vietnam Container Corporation – Viconship (code VSC) has just announced that it has completed the transfer of 12.76 million VNA shares of Vinaship Transport Corporation. Thereby, Viconship has increased the number of VNA shares owned from 836,000 (equivalent to 2.46%) to 13.6 million shares (equivalent to 40.01%).

This amount of VNA shares was traded with a total value of 344.7 billion VND, equivalent to an average price of about 27,000 VND per share. With the amount of shares held up to 40.01%, Viconshiip has become the second largest shareholder at Vinaship.
Regarding shareholder composition, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Code: MVN) is the parent company holding 51% of Viinaship's shares. The number of shares held by small shareholders is currently less than 10%.
Regarding Viconship's business activities, in the second quarter of 2024, the unit recorded net revenue of more than 718 billion VND, an increase of 34% over the same period. Profit after tax reached 92 billion VND, an increase of more than 240% over the previous year.
Viconship's accumulated revenue in the first 6 months of the year recorded VND 1,304 billion, an increase of 31%. Profit after tax reached VND 162 billion, an increase of 110% over the same period last year. In 2024, Viconship set a revenue target of VND 2,450 billion and profit after tax of VND 320 billion. Thus, the company has only completed more than half of the revenue and profit plan after the first 6 months of the year.
At the end of the second quarter of 2024, the unit's total assets reached VND 6,489 billion, an increase of nearly VND 1,300 billion compared to the beginning of the year. Of which, the increase came from equity from the dividend issuance. Liabilities accounted for only VND 1,833 billion, relatively low compared to equity.
