As Thanh Nien reported on November 7, a clip of students fighting was circulating on social media, recording three female students beating, punching, and kicking another female student in the restroom of Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Immediately after confirming with reporters, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Go Vap District requested the Board of Directors of Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School to verify the incident of students fighting in the restroom and establish a disciplinary council to handle the students who violated the above incident.
By noon on November 11, Mr. Trinh Vinh Thanh, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Go Vap District, informed that Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School had held a council meeting and reported on the forms of discipline for the students involved.
Accordingly, the school does not apply the form of disciplinary suspension from school because, according to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Go Vap District, education experts do not encourage the use of disciplinary forms that interrupt learning but instead replace them with more effective educational forms.
Specifically, 3 9th grade students (3 female students who beat their friends) are YN, XM, DT, who had poor conduct in the first semester. Among them, one student transferred schools, and their records will also be transferred to the new school for processing. The 7th grade female student standing guard at the door and the 8th grade female student who filmed the clip received disciplinary action for not meeting the training requirements in the first semester. As for student TV, although she was the victim in the clip, last school year this student also beat her friend and in October 2023 she continued to beat her friend, so she received disciplinary action for not meeting the training requirements in the first semester.
In addition to the above disciplinary action, according to the leader of the Go Vap District Department of Education and Training, within 2 weeks, during recess, these students will read books in the school library, especially books with moral education content, under the supervision of teachers. After that, they will record their feelings about each book. After 2 weeks of reading, on Monday, when the flag is raised every week, these students will take turns telling a story about morality in front of the whole school. This is a form of education aimed at helping students become self-aware and educate themselves.
On November 7, Thanh Nien Newspaper published information about the incident of students fighting in the restroom of Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School (Ward 3, Go Vap District).
In a clip of students fighting in a restroom that went viral on social media, three female students took turns hitting, punching, and kicking another female student in the head and face. The student who was beaten could only hold her head and endure the beating. Even after she was knocked to the bathroom floor, the three female students still grabbed her hair and continued to beat her.
