Surreal beauty in the cave with mysterious 'hanging' lake

(Dan Tri) - The mysterious lake discovered in Thung Cave is about 15m higher than the underground river, so it looks like it is "hanging" suspended on the cave wall. Inside this lake area looks like a majestic palace.
The cave exploration team surveyed a lake in a branch of Thung Cave, part of the Hung Thoong Cave system, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh.
This lake has a surface area of about 100m2, inside the lake area looks like a majestic palace with emerald green water, surrounded by magnificent stalactites. What is special is that the lake is located about 15m higher than the underground river in the cave, so it looks like it is "hanging" on the cave wall. Because of this, the survey team temporarily named it the Floating Lake.
In the second recent survey, the cave exploration team discovered that the water level in the lake had dropped about 2 meters but still could not find the water inlet and outlet of the lake. Hung Thoong cave system is one of the most pristine places of Phong Nha - Ke Bang, discovered by local people in 2009, located deep in the strictly protected area, belonging to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, surrounded by a system of million-year-old limestone mountains and primeval forests.
The Hung Thoong system includes many caves such as: Tron cave, Hung cave, Thung cave, Nightmare sinkhole... According to experts, this is a unique and very different cave system. The reason it is called Hung Thoong is because it surrounds the stream of the same name. To explore Hung Thoong, visitors will trek through the forest, climb over rocky mountains, swim through underground caves, weave through dry caves and camp in the middle of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang forest, immerse themselves in nature, and enjoy the feeling of soaking in cool streams. Inside the large and deep caves are stalactites dating back millions of years with many beautiful colors and patterns. Typically in Hung cave, the stalactite tube system is like crystal. A sinkhole inside the Hung Thoong cave system. A sinkhole is a hole caused by the subsidence of rock and soil on the surface when the soil below is gradually hollowed out to the point where it no longer has enough cohesion to support the rock and soil above.
Recently, Jungle Boss Company Limited, a tourism operator in Quang Binh, discovered a mysterious lake in a branch of Thung Cave, belonging to the Hung Thoong Cave system, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. This mysterious lake has a surface area of about 100m2, is about 10m deep, surrounded by stalactites, and is located about 1km from the cave entrance. In the coming time, the survey team will continue to return to Thung Cave with modern equipment to decode the mysteries of Lo Lung Lake. The Hung Thoong Cave system has been permitted by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to test tourism exploitation in early 2023.
