World gold reverses and increases sharply
Gold price today, August 22, world gold spot on Kitco floor is at 1,895.3 USD/oz, up 7.3 USD/oz compared to opening session. Domestic SJC gold decreased 100,000 VND/tael to 66.95 - 67.55 million VND/tael.
The domestic gold price at the end of August 21 was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company at VND66.95 million/tael for buying and VND67.55 million/tael for selling, both down VND100,000/tael for buying and selling compared to the opening time of the morning session of the same day. The difference between the selling price of gold and the buying price is still VND600,000/tael higher than the buying price.

The buying and selling prices of gold listed by DOJI Group after the trading session on August 21 were VND66.90 - 67.70 million/tael. Compared to the beginning of the morning session, the buying and selling prices of gold at DOJI both decreased by VND50,000/tael. The difference between the buying and selling prices of gold at DOJI remained at VND800,000/tael.
The world gold price opened the trading session on August 21 (US time) sideways while the spot price on Kitco remained at 1,888 USD/oz, equal to the end of the trading session on August 20. Converting the world gold price according to the foreign exchange rate at Vietcombank: 1 USD = 23,600 VND, the world gold price is equivalent to 53.68 million VND/tael, 13.87 million VND/tael lower than the SJC gold selling price at the end of August 21.
CB240 coil steel reduced by 100,000 VND/ton
According to Steel Online, some domestic steel manufacturers reduced the price of CB240 rolled steel products by VND100,000/ton to VND13.5 - 14.04 million/ton. D10 CB300 rebar steel remains at the same price.
Specifically, the brands Hoa Phat, Viet Y, Viet Duc and Viet Sing all reduced their prices by VND100,000/ton. Only Viet Nhat steel remained unchanged.
The Central region recorded a decrease of 100 VND/kg in CB240 coil steel price at two brands including Hoa Phat and Viet Duc. Meanwhile, the Pomina brand kept its old transaction price.

In the South, the price of CB240 rolled steel decreased by 100 VND/kg at Hoa Phat brand. The two brands Pomina and Southern Steel have no new changes.
Meanwhile, the "big guy" Hoa Phat discussed cooperation with the largest steel company in Indonesia.
Recently, the leaders of Hoa Phat Group worked with Mr. Purwono Widodo, Chairman and General Director of Krakatau Steel Group, the largest state-owned steel enterprise in Indonesia, to discuss further research on each other's potential and advantages. From there, they will move towards more specific cooperation in the future. The two sides exchanged and shared information about the Southeast Asian steel market, the development potential in the steel sector in Vietnam and Indonesia; and the technologies and investment steel projects that have been and are being implemented.
Indonesia has a low per capita steel consumption, so there is still a lot of potential for the development of the steel industry in this archipelago nation.
Domestic coffee prices remain stable
Domestic coffee prices on August 22 in the Central Highlands provinces tended to be stable, fluctuating from 63,600 - 64,300 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong was 64,400 VND/kg.
Specifically, coffee prices in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces stood at 63,700 VND/kg. In Dak Nong province, the highest coffee purchase price was 64,400 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at a low price, at 63,600 VND/kg.

Today's coffee price in Dak Lak province in Cu M'gar district is currently at 64,200 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 64,300 VND/kg.
World coffee prices, on the world exchange, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange (UK) in the most recent trading session continued to decrease slightly in terms, a decrease of over 1%, ranging from 2,267 - 2,588 USD/ton depending on the delivery term.
Robusta prices fell after a slight increase in the previous session, down 1.17% from the reference. High prices combined with available supplies have boosted Robusta exports in Brazil to the highest level on record.
According to preliminary statistics from the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (CECAFE), in just the first 16 days of August, Brazil exported 400,296 60-kg bags of Robusta coffee. This is the highest export volume compared to the same period of previous months.
