Specifically, 4-number 9 gold rings at SJC were bought for 63.65 million VND and sold for 64.85 million VND, an increase of 150,000 VND compared to the same morning. Compared to before Tet, each tael of 4-number 9 gold rings at SJC increased by 250,000 VND.
Meanwhile, the price of gold bars at Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC was bought at 76.1 million VND and sold at 78.6 million VND like yesterday. Compared to the beginning of the week, SJC gold bars remained almost unchanged.
Gold rings and jewelry prices increase continuously before God of Wealth Day
The continuous increase in gold rings is explained by the demand of people to buy gold for "luck" on the occasion of God of Wealth. Even at Bao Tin Minh Chau store (Hanoi), gold rings with 4 number 9 are sold for nearly 66 million VND, which is also the "peak" price ever.

Saigon Jewelry Company is buying 75% jewelry gold at VND46.49 million/tael and selling it for VND48.49 million, marking a record price for jewelry. Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company (PNJ) is buying 24K gold rings (equivalent to 4 9s) for VND63.35 million and selling it for VND64.5 million; 18K jewelry gold is bought for VND46.86 million and sold for VND48.26 million.
The difference in the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars has increased to 2.5 million VND per tael, while the gap in 4-number-9 gold rings has also increased by 100,000 VND, to 1.2 million VND. Currently, SJC gold bars are 13.75 million VND higher than gold rings.
The difference between buying and selling gold rings of many other units was also pushed higher than before the Tet holiday, from 1.1 to 1.4 million VND/tael depending on the type of gold. This will cause buyers to suffer immediate losses even though the gold price may remain stable or only increase slightly.
The world gold price continued to increase, reaching 2,014 USD/ounce, 10 USD higher than yesterday morning. Converting USD exchange rate according to Vietcombank, world gold is equivalent to 60 million VND/tael (excluding tax and fees). Each tael of SJC gold bars is nearly 19 million VND higher than the world price while gold rings are nearly 5 million VND higher.
