“Happy Lunch” is one of the activities that bears the strong mark of the Trade Union of VTJ Toms Textile Company Limited, at Dien Sanh Industrial Park, Hai Lang District. This activity has been implemented since July 2018 and has been maintained until now with each happy lunch every month.
Different from regular meals, the lunch menu is supplemented with many nutritious and attractive dishes such as fried spring rolls, chicken soup and desserts. This is one of the activities to encourage and motivate union members and workers after stressful working hours. The cost of each meal is taken from the company's union operating budget.
In addition to the "Happy Lunch" activity, in recent years, promoting the role of "bridge" between employees and employers, the Trade Union of VTJ Toms Textile Company Limited has proactively coordinated with the company's leadership to effectively implement solutions to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees.
The Trade Union proactively coordinates to organize annual labor conferences and periodic dialogues according to regulations to promptly answer issues that employees are concerned about; build and effectively implement grassroots democracy regulations at the workplace and regulations on coordination of activities.
At the same time, the grassroots trade union also advises and proposes to the enterprise leaders to organize well periodic health check-ups; give gifts, celebrate the year-end for all cadres, workers, cultural, physical education and sports activities; improve the quality of shift meals; visit union members and relatives of union members who are sick, mourning, or happy in accordance with policies, regimes and regulations...
Chairman of the Trade Union of VTJ Toms Textile Company Limited, Le Nhat Tien, said: “To promote its role well, trade union activities must closely follow production practices. With the attention of the trade union organization, working conditions have been improved in recent times, and labor safety and industrial hygiene in the enterprise have been ensured. Thanks to that, labor relations in the unit are very stable.”
It is known that the whole province currently has more than 300 enterprise-based trade unions with over 13,600 union members. In recent years, under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Federation of Labor and the direct superior trade unions, the enterprise-based trade unions have flexibly organized many activities to care for the lives, represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees. To create harmony in labor relations, the trade union organization has proactively coordinated to organize dialogues between employees and employers to have a common voice.
The dialogue focuses on the production and business situation of the employer; the implementation of labor contracts, working conditions, benefits of the enterprise for employees, the implementation of regimes and policies; the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations at the workplace, labor relations and trade union activities.
Along with that, many grassroots trade unions also advise and propose to enterprises to negotiate and sign collective labor agreements. The whole province currently has 141/271 enterprises with trade unions organizing negotiations and signing collective labor agreements, reaching a rate of 52%. At the same time, investing in building facilities, organizing well cultural and sports activities to improve the health and spiritual life of workers.
Create conditions for workers to participate in events, competitions, and performances organized by the superior trade union. Reward initiatives, encourage workers with excellent achievements at work, and promptly support workers in difficult circumstances.
Trade unions at all levels have focused on promoting propaganda and dissemination of State policies and laws related to workers. Innovating trade union organization and activities towards the grassroots for the benefit of union members and workers; organizing well the emulation movements of "Good workers, creative workers", "Green, clean, beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", contributing to improving productivity, quality, labor efficiency, saving costs, and protecting the environment.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Tai Minh said: In the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on directing the grassroots trade unions to further promote propaganda and mobilization work to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises.
At the same time, trade unions at all levels need to continue to innovate and enhance their role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees through coordinating with employers to effectively implement democratic regulations at the workplace, organize dialogues, negotiate, and sign collective labor agreements with enterprises.
The superior trade union will always accompany, support and guide the grassroots trade union to improve the quality and efficiency of its operations, so that the trade union organization can truly be a solid support for union members and workers.
