The Committee of the Cambodian Fatherland Development Solidarity Front of Kampot province visits Kien Giang province

On the afternoon of November 12, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province welcomed a delegation of the Cambodian Fatherland Development Solidarity Front Committee of Kampot province to visit and congratulate on the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024).

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province welcomed the delegation of the Committee of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland of Kampot province.

During the visit, Mr. Duong Savann - Member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, Permanent Vice President of the Committee of the Cambodian Fatherland Front for Solidarity and Development in Kampot province said that cooperation in all fields between Kien Giang and Kampot has increasingly developed. Kien Giang province always supports and assists Kampot province both spiritually and materially, bringing prosperity and stability to both sides.

Mr. Duong Savann - Member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, Permanent Vice President of the Committee of the Front for Solidarity and Development of the Cambodian Motherland of Kampot province spoke.

Mr. Duong Savann also affirmed that the Cambodian Fatherland Development Solidarity Front as well as the Cambodian people are always grateful to the Vietnamese volunteer army who helped the Cambodian people to drive out the Pol Pot genocidal regime.

On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024), Mr. Duong Savann congratulated the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province. At the same time, he wished the solidarity and friendship between Kampot province and Kien Giang province to last forever and be sustainable.

In his reply, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang Province Le Thanh Viet said that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with mountains and rivers connecting to each other, sharing a land border and adjacent sea areas. The people of the two countries have a long-standing traditional friendship and cooperation relationship. In the struggle for national independence, national reunification or the fight against the Pol Pot genocide, the two peoples have stood shoulder to shoulder in the same trench to fight against a common enemy and today are actively strengthening cooperation and helping each other in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Viet, Kien Giang and Kampot are two close neighboring provinces with a long-standing traditional friendship. The people of the two provinces are always determined to preserve the traditional friendship to meet the aspirations and interests of the people of the two provinces for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. All levels and sectors of the two border provinces always strengthen and expand exchanges and cooperation to effectively implement the cooperation program between the two governments in all fields. Coordinate in organizing cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities, organize delegations to visit and give gifts on holidays and traditional New Year of the two countries.

In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province organized the signing of the Emulation Covenant with the Committee of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland of Kampot province, Kingdom of Cambodia for the period 2023-2025 on building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative border for mutual development.

“The leaders of the Front Committees of the border provinces have actively implemented the signed contents and organized propaganda for the people to jointly determine to build the border in the spirit of constantly nurturing the traditional solidarity and friendship.

The provinces on both sides of the border should strengthen coordination to promptly detect and prevent cross-border smuggling; coordinate propaganda to encourage fishermen to strictly comply with regulations when catching seafood and not to have acts of sabotage, causing division of solidarity and traditional friendship between the people on both sides of the border," said Mr. Le Thanh Viet.

On behalf of the leadership of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province, Mr. Le Thanh Viet wished that the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and Kien Giang province and Kampot province in particular will be like the majestic Mekong River that will never dry up, thereby contributing to preserving and beautifying the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
