Head of the Ukrainian President's Office Andriy Yermak said on June 25 that Kiev wants to host a global peace summit to discuss Ukraine's peace plan, in the context of an international meeting on the topic taking place in Copenhagen (Denmark).
On his Telegram channel, Mr. Yermak wrote: "An important conference of advisers in Copenhagen... I proposed platforms that could become potential venues for a global peace summit.
First of all, I put forward Ukraine as the most desirable option for us. Many countries have expressed their readiness to host this summit, including international venues such as the UN General Assembly."
The Copenhagen meeting was attended by national security and political advisers from Brazil, Canada, Denmark, the European Union (EU), France, Germany, India, Italy, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey and Japan, he said, adding that the parties agreed to continue the consultation format.
On June 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that a summit to discuss a peace plan was being prepared, saying he wanted the talks to involve as many countries as possible.
