Ukrainian security forces have arrested four people for filming and posting video of a Russian missile hitting the capital Kiev, saying the act helped Moscow calibrate its weapons.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced on January 3 that it had identified and arrested four bloggers in the capital Kiev on charges of illegally disseminating information related to Russia's fierce airstrikes the day before.
"These people illegally posted videos of enemy missiles hitting the city. The images were immediately exploited by enemy media and intelligence, and could be used to calibrate weapons, preparing for further airstrikes against Kiev," the SBU said.

Ukrainian officials have stressed that people should not film the actions of military units and the aftermath of Russian air strikes. "Those who distribute such images will be considered aiding the enemy and face a maximum prison sentence of 12 years," the SBU warned.
On January 2, the Russian military deployed 134 missiles of various types and 35 suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine. Moscow announced that the airstrikes were targeting defense industry corporations specializing in the production of missiles and UAVs, as well as military equipment repair facilities, missile depots, ammunition and aviation weapons that were provided by the West to Kiev.
The Ukrainian air defense command announced that air defense units shot down all 10 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, 62 Kh-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles, and 35 suicide drones.
Images posted on social media showed the moment a fiery trail believed to be from a Kinzhal hypersonic missile hit a target in Kiev, as well as multiple locations in the city exploding and burning. It is unclear whether the people who filmed the images were among the four suspects arrested by the SBU.
