As a billionaire who owns many large companies, Elon Musk is no stranger to the recruitment process. The billionaire recently revealed in an interview about his way of asking questions to candidates, so that he can quickly recognize who is telling the truth and who is lying.
Musk has previously been asked how he selects the people he trusts to work on his most important and ambitious projects, and he has said that many of his choices are based on intuition.
As for recruiting, Musk said his choice is usually made after he asks the candidate a familiar question that he always applies in every interview: "My question when interviewing is always the same. I ask the candidate to tell me their life story, about the important decisions they have made in their life.
Finally, I ask them why they made the decisions they did. I might also ask them about the most difficult problems they've ever faced and how they handled them."
Billionaire Elon Musk explains that most people will only be able to go into detail if they are telling their own story. If a person is not being truthful with the story they are telling, they will have a hard time going into detail.
"People who have actually encountered problems and solved them, they will know exactly how to describe the process of solving the problem, they will naturally go into small details. People who draw a false story may initially tell a pretty good story, but then they get stuck in the story they draw," Elon Musk revealed about his unique technique when interviewing employees.
