The Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has issued a document to the Women's Union branches in districts, towns, and cities to implement the "Month of Intensive Drug Prevention and Control" throughout the province, with the theme "Drug prevention and control that is resolute, effective, enhances responsibility, and proactively coordinates - For a drug-free community".
Accordingly, the implemented activities include strengthening propaganda to raise awareness and a sense of responsibility among members, women, and the public in the fight against drug-related crimes. Coordinating with relevant departments and agencies to organize activities in response to the Month of Action against Drugs through appropriate forms to create a vibrant atmosphere and raise the spirit of fighting against drug crimes. Launching a nationwide movement to report drug-related crimes and violations to change community perceptions, overcome discrimination and ostracism against drug addicts and those who have completed rehabilitation, and create conditions for those who have completed rehabilitation to reintegrate into the community.
In addition, incorporate propaganda content into meetings and activities of women's associations to clarify the multifaceted harms of drugs. Promote the campaigns "Building a family with 5 no's and 3 clean's" and "All people unite to build a cultured life." Encourage members, women, and all segments of the population to detect, report, and actively participate in the fight against drug crimes; encourage drug addicts to voluntarily quit and educate and assist those who have completed rehabilitation. Provide financial support, effectively implement vocational training, and introduce job opportunities to prevent relapse.
Local branches of the Association need to focus on building, strengthening, and improving the quality of the "Self-defense, self-management" model within the nationwide movement to protect national security; participating in the rehabilitation, education, and assistance of drug addicts in residential communities; mobilizing the recovery of weapons, explosives, and supporting tools; and encouraging wanted fugitives to surrender. They should maintain and expand models for disseminating information on drug crime prevention and control, and combating social evils.
Through propaganda, mobilization, and model building activities, we will contribute to changing the awareness and actions of each official, member, woman, and the general public in participating in prevention, gradually stopping, and ultimately eliminating drug abuse in the community. This will create a healthy social environment, ensure security and order, and promote socio-economic development.
