Vietnam women's team returns home, Huynh Nhu's parents travel 140km to pick up their daughter at the airport

" It's always the same, no matter where I go or what I do, I always feel overwhelmed with happiness when fans welcome me with open arms. Personally, Huynh Nhu always wants to do everything to make Vietnamese people happy. This is a common joy for everyone, not just the Vietnamese women's team, " Huynh Nhu shared after landing at Tan Son Nhat airport with her teammates. Huynh Nhu's parents traveled more than 140km to pick up their daughter in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Vietnamese team returned home after finishing their journey at the 32nd SEA Games. Huynh Nhu and her teammates defeated the Myanmar team to win the SEA Games for the fourth consecutive time, and the 8th championship in the history of the Vietnamese women's football tournament.

The Vietnamese team split into two groups and left Phnom Penh, Cambodia this afternoon (May 16). Huynh Nhu's group has 11 members flying directly to Ho Chi Minh City. The remaining group transited in Laos before arriving in Hanoi at around 9:30 p.m.

At Tan Son Nhat airport, many fans were present to welcome the members of the Vietnamese team.

Sharing the same sentiment as Huynh Nhu, midfielder Thuy Trang said: " It was really touching to be cheered on by fans from Cambodia all the way to the airport. There is nothing happier than a player's life like that ."

The players will return to their home clubs to train or rest with their families. Striker Huynh Nhu will spend time resting in her hometown of Tra Vinh before returning to Portugal.

Next July, the Vietnamese women's team will participate in the 2023 Women's World Cup. To prepare, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have a training session in Germany and play friendly matches with the world's top teams.

Huynh Nhu affirmed her determination for the next goal: " First, we will enjoy the joy of victory at the SEA Games and then focus all our efforts on the 2023 World Cup ."
