This afternoon, April 5, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to honor outstanding cooperatives and sign a commitment to the goals of collective economic development in 2024. By the end of December 2023, the whole province had 310 agricultural cooperatives and 2 cooperative unions. Last year, 1 new cooperative union and 15 agricultural cooperatives were established; 2 cooperatives were dissolved; 10 cooperatives ceased operations... The number of cooperative union members is 14 cooperatives; the total number of regular employees in cooperatives and cooperative unions is 12,971. The rate of cooperatives classified as good and excellent reached 59.7%, an increase of 0.7% compared to the set plan. The average revenue of a cooperative is 1.3 billion VND; the average income of a cooperative worker is 35 million VND. There are 21 cooperatives participating in the OCOP program with 33 products recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as 3-star and 4-star...
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong awarded the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee to 4 collectives leading the emulation movement in 2023; awarded certificates of merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 1 collective and 3 individuals with many achievements in work in 2023.
On this occasion, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded certificates of merit and commemorative medals for the cause of cooperative development to collectives and individuals who have excellently completed their tasks in 2023.

At the conference, the Provincial Cooperative Union, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and representatives of localities signed a commitment on the goals of developing the collective economy in 2024.
Accordingly, the parties committed to strive to support the establishment of 8-10 new agricultural cooperatives in 2024, including 1-2 forestry cooperatives; 100% of agricultural cooperatives operating in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Cooperatives and current regulations; at least 60% of agricultural cooperatives achieving good and excellent grades according to the set of criteria for evaluating and classifying agricultural cooperatives.
Continue to support 5 cooperatives to build and complete the new cooperative model according to Decision No. 1970/QD-UBND dated July 30, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee. Strengthen the value chain linkage between enterprises and cooperatives, prioritize supporting projects or plans to link production with consumption of key agricultural products through the role of agricultural cooperatives.
Strive to have over 22% of agricultural cooperatives cooperate with enterprises in production and consumption of products for members; have 4-6 agricultural cooperatives have additional OCOP products of 3 stars or higher. Organize to thoroughly handle agricultural cooperatives that have stopped operating and have been weak for a long time...

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong praised the results achieved by the collective economic sector and cooperatives. Frankly pointing out the shortcomings and limitations of the collective economic sector, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that all levels and sectors continue to pay attention to supporting cooperatives, cooperative groups and cooperative unions.
In which, it is important to strengthen coordination between relevant agencies in developing and implementing foreign affairs activities and international cooperation on developing the market economy; effectively carry out propaganda, dissemination andeducation work, creating a change in awareness of the role, position, nature and importance of the market economy in the socialist-oriented market economy for cadres, party members, union members, association members and people of all walks of life.
Cooperatives must continue to innovate their methods of operation, improve the quality of service to members, promote economic restructuring, apply new scientific and technological advances in production; strengthen, consolidate and improve the quality of operations of the Provincial Cooperative Union...
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that in the coming time, with the promulgation of the Law on Cooperatives in 2023 and the participation of the entire political system, the cooperative movement will have positive changes, contributing more and more to the socio-economic development of the province.
