Female citizens from 18 to 25 years old, 1.60m or taller, well-proportioned, fresh-faced, unmarried, and childless... are some of the requirements of the Ministry of National Defense when selecting female soldiers to join the army in 2025.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense - signed and issued instructions on the selection and calling of female citizens to join the army in 2025 (female soldiers).
Accordingly, in addition to the general conditions and standards for selecting and calling male citizens to join the army, female citizens must have a voluntary application to serve in the army, confirmed by a family representative and the People's Committee of the commune where they permanently reside, and meet specific conditions and standards.
Regarding age, must be from 18 to 25 years old, citizens who have graduated from college or university must be up to 27 years old, unmarried, and have no children.
Regarding health, must meet health standards of type 1 and type 2 according to regulations in Circular No. 105/2023/TT-BQP.
Height must be 1.60m or more, with a balanced appearance and a fresh appearance.
Technical expertise, graduated from intermediate training or higher, priority given to citizens who graduated from university or college with training majors suitable to the needs of the Army.
In case of talent, follow separate regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.
In addition, units assigned with the quota of recruiting female citizens to join the army proactively coordinate with localities to select and ensure that they meet the prescribed conditions and standards. They are recruited in localities nationwide (recruitment separately) and are counted towards the 2025 military recruitment quota of the locality and unit.
After recruiting, coordinating and handing over to the Hanoi Capital Command (for units in the North), Military Region 7 Command (for units in the South) for training, ensuring complete procedures, on time, absolute safety and implementing military management according to regulations.
Agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense assigned with the quota for recruiting female citizens shall direct their agencies and units to closely coordinate with localities to organize the selection of female citizens for military service, ensuring that they meet the prescribed conditions and standards, and shall be responsible to the Minister of National Defense for the quality of female citizens enlisted in the unit.
