While chairing a meeting of the youth wing of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) in Pursat province on June 20, General Hun Manet said that their mission is to win the hearts of the people in the struggle for democracy so that "the party can continue to serve the people," according to Khmer Times .
"Use these four methods to complete the mission. One is to strengthen the party's organizational structure by completing assigned tasks well; the second is to maintain emotional stability with the support of mental care training and education; the third is to share knowledge gained from senior leaders with everyone and help each other; and the last is to build a comprehensive action plan to ensure efficiency, as well as accuracy in timely situation analysis," Gen. Hun Manet said at the meeting.
Mr. Hun Manet was promoted to the rank of general (4-star general) in April 2023.
Mr. Hun Manet, who is currently the CPP's future prime minister candidate, also stressed that the party's youth wing has the duty to inspire and attract the support of the country's youth and all members should try their best to win a resounding victory in the upcoming general election in Cambodia.
In early April, the CPP announced that Hun Manet had been nominated as a candidate for the July 23 parliamentary election. Hun Manet's name was first among the 12 CPP candidates.

Mr. Hun Manet (46 years old) is the first Cambodian to graduate from the famous West Point Military Academy in the United States. He has a master's degree in economics from New York University (USA) and a doctorate in economics from the University of Bristol (UK).
