Hai Phong's dynamic and creative youth compete in waste classification at source

TPO – At the training conference on waste classification at source held at Hai Phong College of Medicine and Pharmacy on the morning of November 23, 200 Hai Phong youth union members demonstrated their dynamism and creativity when participating in games and competitions combined with knowledge and skills in waste classification at source.

On November 23, Tien Phong Newspaper in collaboration with Hai Phong City Youth Union and Le Chan District Youth Union organized a Training Conference on waste classification at source for city youth union members at Hai Phong College of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Attending and sharing at the conference, Mr. Pham Thanh Ha - Head of Communications Department, Hai Phong Urban Environment Company shared the 8-year process of organizing and implementing waste classification in the locality with many good models, creative methods and achieved impressive results with hundreds of model residential groups classifying waste at source into 3 groups.

Mr. Ha emphasized the role of residential groups, socio-political organizations such as: Women's Union, Veterans Association, Elderly Association, Youth Union members at all levels... In which, the role of youth union members is very important, with youthfulness and dynamism, you will be the pioneer force, leading in waste classification, environmental protection and then spreading to family, friends, schools...

Ms. Do Van Nguyet - Director of the Center for Living and Learning for the Environment and Community has integrated knowledge and skills in waste classification with diverse games to attract young people to interact, enthusiastically learn and answer.

Through the knowledge and skills documents on waste classification prepared by the organizers, young people only need 15 minutes to understand the knowledge about new legal regulations, how to classify, collect and treat waste in their own families.

With many diverse and rich competitions and games, the young people demonstrated their youthfulness, dynamism and creativity.

Many young people received meaningful gifts from the organizers after each competition.

At the conference, Ms. Ha Thi Minh Chau - Secretary of Le Chan District Youth Union shared the plans and tasks that the facility has implemented in the past time, with many models and activities of waste classification at source achieving impressive results. Thereby, contributing to protecting the environment of residential areas and neighborhood groups.

On this occasion, Tien Phong Newspaper presented Le Chan District Youth Union with 48 3-compartment waste sorting bins to continue organizing waste sorting activities at the source at the grassroots level.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ha - Head of Communications Department, Hai Phong Urban Environment Company said that as of November 18, there were 262 residential groups achieving model residential groups in waste classification. It is expected that by the end of 2024, there will be 468 residential groups in Hai Phong achieving model residential groups in waste classification at source. This is the result of propaganda, mobilization, and coordination of authorities at all levels, residential groups, and social organizations working together over the past time.
