
Mr. Phi Van Duong, Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, said: Since the beginning of the year, cooperatives in the province have continued to consolidate and improve the efficiency of their operations. Many cooperatives have strived to innovate in terms of content of operations and organization; production and business in the direction of multi-industry. Especially, some cooperatives affected by the Covid-19 epidemic have proactively restored production and business. Deploying the construction of new cooperative models associated with value chains; linking and participating in value chains in cooperatives have been strengthened. Therefore, the collective economy has been affirming its position and role in economic restructuring, job creation, and income increase in the area.
The establishment of new cooperatives is not only in district centers but also focused on communes building new rural areas, remote and isolated communes. Thereby contributing to exploiting the potential and strengths of the region and improving the lives of people in the highlands.
In October 2023, the Tenh Phong Sustainable Coffee Cooperative (Ten Hon village, Tenh Phong commune, Tuan Giao district) was established with 12 members. This is a cooperative established within the framework of the Project "Improving coffee production linkages for ethnic minority communities in Tuan Giao district" jointly implemented by GIZ (Germany) and Hong Ky International Coffee Joint Stock Company. With the policy of developing Arabica coffee trees in the direction of specialties based on the strengths of Tenh Phong, the cooperative commits to consuming products produced on over 20 hectares of coffee in Tenh Phong commune and in the coming time will expand the consumption area to 100 hectares in other communes of the district. In addition, integrating the development of community tourism activities. Thereby contributing to building new rural areas and improving people's lives.
Mr. Mua A Lu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tenh Phong Sustainable Coffee Cooperative, said: When market demand becomes more stringent and consumers seek quality products, people and businesses must change to meet the demand. To do this, we cannot "do it alone" as before, but must cooperate and link together. Building a coffee production chain in the highland commune of Tenh Phong will promote and consume prestigious and quality agricultural products in the market. From there, agricultural production will be sustainable and people's lives will be improved.
In order to promote the development of collective economy, the Provincial Cooperative Union has actively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to implement policies and solutions for the development of collective economy and cooperatives. Activities of consulting, supporting, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of member cooperatives have also been gradually improved. The Provincial Cooperative Union has coordinated with the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion (Vietnam Cooperative Union) to survey and select a number of cooperatives in Muong Cha district to participate in building a poverty reduction model, supporting the development of production according to the value chain under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction. Conducting a survey of the Northwest medicinal cooperative in Huoi Long village, Mun Chung commune (Tuan Giao district) and members who are poor and near-poor households participating in the pilot model of growing green hemp in Tua Chua district. At the same time, playing a core and leading role in mobilizing, consulting and supporting the establishment of new cooperatives; Consulting on procedures, supporting the preparation of documents and establishing 23 new cooperatives. Propagating and mobilizing 100% of newly established cooperatives to join the Provincial Cooperative Union; organizing 8 conferences to propagate the Law on Cooperatives 2012 and documents guiding the implementation of the Law; policies on the development of collective economy and cooperatives; disseminating and raising awareness about the nature of the new cooperative model, the role and benefits of cooperative organizations in socio-economic development.
Regarding capital support, the Provincial Cooperative Union has consulted, supported the construction of loan documents, appraised and disbursed 3 projects of 3 cooperatives borrowing from the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund with a total loan of 650 million VND. Through capital support activities, it has contributed to creating conditions for cooperatives to expand production and business, creating jobs for workers. The Provincial Cooperative Union has also actively conducted a survey on the satisfaction index of cooperatives with local Party committees and authorities to promptly reflect the implementation of policies to support collective economic development of local Party committees and authorities.
