District 11 Lantern Festival: crowded and warm
Attending the Nguyen Tieu festival in District 11 were Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Le Thanh Minh - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, Ms. Dang Thi Tuyet Mai - Deputy Head of Ho Chi Minh City Ethnic Minorities Committee.

From 5pm, Ha Ton Quyen Street was packed with people. The street was also bustling with stalls selling calligraphy, cakes, sweet soups, etc., along with a display of images of the activities of the people and government of District 11.
At the end of the street, a large stage was set up, with artists performing lion dances, traditional songs... to serve the people.
Here, there are lion and dragon parades on some streets, cultural exchanges, Chinese performances, and lucky lanterns.
In her opening speech, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Tram - Vice Chairwoman of District 11 People's Committee - said: "This is the first year that the Nguyen Tieu festival is held in District 11. In addition to its historical, political, cultural and social values, it is also a community value, a mark of time and a spiritual asset of the people.
This is a harmonious beauty combining Vietnamese culture and Chinese culture to promote cultural values, spiritual values, humanity, solidarity and attachment between Vietnamese and Chinese people with other ethnic groups in the Vietnamese ethnic community.

At the end of the festival, there was a Chinese lantern-lighting activity. Many benefactors contributed more than 104 million VND to help ethnic minority children living in District 11 who are in difficulty.

Artist Chau Hung, head of the Nhac Phong Chinese Traditional Singing Club under the District 11 Sports and Cultural Center, excitedly shared: "Our club operates weekly. Every quarter, we perform for the people. But today we are able to perform right on the traditional New Year of our nation. I feel proud and happy."
