Students from the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, demonstrated their creativity and uniqueness through three attractive recycled fashion collections in a special fashion show on April 13.
Both first and second year students of the school, the designers share the same desire to spread life messages to the community.
The environmental protection collection uses materials from grass, trees, flowers and leaves in the designs, to express the message of environmental protection.
The creative collection mainly uses jeans, plastic bags or newspapers to convey the message of creative fashion, as well as the style of art students.
The evening collection is a dedicated collection, with diverse materials from newspapers, leaves, sacks, plastic... expressing unique messages such as the decline of nature, love... Thereby conveying the purity and aspirations of people.

Nguyen Kieu Trang - head of the Volunteer Club of the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, head of the organizing committee of the recycled fashion show - said the collection was completed "in a hurry" within a week.
"Because of recycled fashion, instead of buying materials, we have to ask for scrap paper, old newspapers, plastic waste... from agencies, units, and even ask students in the dormitory for plastic garbage bags to design," Trang said.

Contributing two designs named "The Decline of Nature" and "You Love Me But You Hurt Me" to the program, Dinh Thi Hang - a first-year student, Faculty of Arts and Design, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts - said that the principle in the recycling process is to only utilize what you have, not to buy more or generate more waste.
"With the costume designed from dry leaves, my original idea was a leaf dress, green on top and yellow gradually fading to the bottom, representing the decline of nature.
However, when I actually started making it, I realized that I couldn't keep the green color of the leaves after a few days, so I decided to glue hundreds of dry Indian almond leaves onto a paper background to make a skirt that was more than 3 meters long," Hang said.
