On the morning of November 25, in Hai Phong City, the Coast Guard fleet 8003 and 8004 of Squadron 11 - Coast Guard Region 1 Command began to leave the port, setting off to carry out the second joint patrol mission in the waters near the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard in 2024.

This joint patrol between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard will take place over three days, from November 26 to 28, starting from point 1 (point 21 on the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin) and ending at point 13 (point 9 on the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin). The total distance is 255.5 nautical miles.
The Vietnam Coast Guard uses squadrons 8003 and 8004, commanded by Colonel Luong Cao Khai, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Coast Guard Region 1, Vietnam Coast Guard, to patrol and control the western side of the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin. The Chinese Coast Guard uses squadrons 2 Coast Guard ships 4301 and 4203, commanded by Comrade Chiem Dat Dong, Deputy Director of the South China Sea Sub-Department, China Coast Guard, to patrol and control the eastern side of the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin.
During the mission, the Coast Guard forces of the two countries will carry out the following contents in the patrol route: holding talks and exchanges; inspecting and supervising fishing boats in the waters adjacent to the demarcation line; disseminating regulations on operations, conduct and disseminating laws to fishermen; exchanging professional skills in law enforcement and search and rescue at sea.

This is the ninth patrol in the waters adjacent to the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard organized after the Fisheries Cooperation Agreement between the two countries expired on June 30, 2020. The leaders of the Coast Guards of the two countries believe that, with careful preparation and close coordination between the two forces, the joint patrol will contribute to maintaining a peaceful, cooperative, and law-abiding environment in the Gulf of Tonkin.
