Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan called on coal-fired thermal power plants to join hands to provide enough electricity for the North.
On June 22, EVN informed the press and customers about the electricity supply situation in the northern provinces.
EVN said that in recent days, the water level of hydroelectric reservoirs has been raised, and some thermal power plants with problems have been fixed, with close, drastic and timely direction from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and the sharing and coordination of leaders of provinces and cities. Accordingly, the electricity supply situation has improved.
Many hydroelectric reservoirs in the North have drained the dead water level, and the power supply for the North is basically guaranteed.
According to EVN's announcement, from June 23, the Northern power system has basically met the demand for electricity. However, because the Northern power system does not have reserve capacity, extreme situations may still occur in the coming time, leading to load adjustment and power reduction.
EVN also expressed its gratitude for the attention and direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, and the sharing and coordination of the leaders of provinces and cities; as well as the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group and the Northeast Corporation, power generation units, etc., for their support and good coordination with the Group in providing fuel and maintaining the operation of generators.
EVN strives to find coal supply for thermal power plants
In particular, in the announcement, EVN also expressed its thanks for the sharing and sympathy of electricity customers, and apologized for the recent power cuts.
To ensure better electricity supply in the coming time, the Group recommends that customers, agencies and units continue to use electricity economically, safely and effectively.
During the most difficult and stressful time to ensure power supply for the entire system recently, EVN said it has deployed a series of measures to safely and stably operate the power system and electricity market, meeting customers' electricity needs.
Since June 23, the North has basically overcome the power shortage.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 19, EVN held a conference on the operation and production of coal-fired thermal power plants in the northern region, with the participation of 24 investors of coal-fired thermal power plants in the northern region, including Power Generation Corporations 1, 2, 3 (member units of EVN), Electricity Corporation - TKV, Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation, BOT investors, and independent power plants.
Speaking at this conference, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan, General Director of EVN, emphasized that electricity is an input resource for the economy , and called on power generation units inside and outside the group to best prepare the readiness conditions and availability of generators.
In addition, Mr. Nhan also requested that power generation units proactively arrange sufficient fuel sources to meet the high mobilization requirements of the power system in order to best prepare power sources to serve the needs of the economy, society and people's lives in the last 6 months of 2023 and the following years.
