That is the saying shared by many students when they were honored at the Ceremony to honor outstanding and exemplary ethnic minority students and youth in 2024, organized by the Ethnic Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Burning dreams
Le Tran Anh, Muong ethnic, former student of Nhu Thanh High School (Thanh Hoa), is a prominent name in this commendation. He excellently achieved 29.01 points in the high school graduation exam, proudly entering the door of Hanoi University of Science and Technology - one of the top schools in the country. Currently, Tran Anh is a first-year student. He shared: “My secret to studying is self-study. I always listen attentively to the teachers to understand the lesson in class, then go home and search for more advanced materials online to consolidate my knowledge. I often study new lessons in advance, prepare carefully to save time practicing questions.”
Not stopping at impressive achievements, Le Tran Anh nurtures a big dream: "I want to use the knowledge I have learned to create and contribute, both bringing value to myself and contributing to building an increasingly prosperous country."
Also honored was Mac Luong Ha Anh (Thai ethnic group), from the mountainous district of Tuong Duong (Nghe An). He also expressed his honor and pride when, along with hundreds of other brothers and sisters, students, and young people of ethnic minorities in Vietnam, he was honored and rewarded. Accordingly, Ha Anh affirmed that he and his friends will continue to strive to become useful Vietnamese citizens in the era of national development, maintain political will, constantly cultivate ethics and conduct, strive to study and practice, be creative and devoted, worthy of the trust and love of leaders at all levels, of family and teachers. "For the future of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, we are willing to return to join hands in building our homeland and villages to become more prosperous and beautiful" - Ha Anh said.
Hang Thi Mai (Mong ethnic group), from Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai province, also said she was very honored and proud. According to Hang Thi Mai, this is the clearest evidence showing the attention of the leaders of the Party, State and the Ethnic Committee for ethnic minority students and youth. In recent times, with the attention, ethnic minority students have gradually overcome difficulties in studying and training. Many ethnic minority students have overcome difficulties to achieve high results in studying and training, and are equipped in all aspects from material to spiritual. This is also a great source of motivation and encouragement for them. Thanks to that, their families are also assured when letting them continue studying.
Inspiring the younger generation
Mr. Le Cong Binh - member of the Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Commendation Ceremony shared: Along with the attention of the Party and the State, the education and training sector in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has received the care of families and the social community; the dedication and responsibility of teachers and the efforts of ethnic minority students and youth. Thanks to that, in recent years, the education and training sector in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has achieved important achievements, contributing to improving the quality of ethnic minority human resources.
There are more and more students who overcome difficulties and achieve high results in their studies and scientific research; many ethnic minority youths are outstanding and exemplary in various fields of labor and production, taking the lead in movements to build and defend the Fatherland. Among the many outstanding and exemplary ethnic minority students and youths, there are more and more students from ethnic minorities with very few people, ethnic minorities with special difficulties, and ethnic minorities with many difficulties.
The Commendation Ceremony left many emotions and impressions on delegates, students, and youth who attended directly and millions of television viewers across the country. Thanks to that, the Commendation Ceremony achieved the goal of honoring the tradition of studiousness of the Vietnamese people in general and of ethnic minorities in particular. At the same time, it commended and encouraged the spirit of striving, overcoming difficulties to achieve outstanding and outstanding achievements in studying, training and participating in social activities of students, students, and ethnic minority youth; creating a spreading influence, inspiring the younger generation to overcome difficulties and challenges on the road to the future.
Over 10 commendation periods (2013 - 2023), 1,317 outstanding ethnic minority students, students and youths representing ethnic groups, regions and localities have been commended. The quality, influence of the Commendation Ceremony and the achievements of students, students and youths have been increasingly improved. At the commendation period in 2024, 125 students, students and youths from 33 ethnic groups (including 12 students, students and youths from 11 ethnic groups with special difficulties and very few ethnic minorities) from 39 provinces and cities across the country were commended.

The Commendation Ceremony is also meaningful as a profound memory, a first mark in their learning journey. From there, they have the awareness to strive even harder to become outstanding individuals in the future.
According to Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh, in recent times, in addition to the care of the State, there has also been the joint efforts of the whole society, the business community, philanthropists, organizations, individuals, and local authorities to help ethnic minority students, students, and youth have the best conditions to study, work, and work.
With the support policies, students and ethnic minority youth across the country have strived to overcome difficulties and achieve high results in studying, training and other fields.
