Proud to hold U23 Vietnam to a draw

"I am very proud of the players. Before the match, I told the players to show fighting spirit. They played very hard. I am happy about that," said coach Mohamad Nazri after the match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Singapore with a score of 2-2.

Striker Chua Vasileios - the player who scored the equalizer 2-2 for U23 Singapore said: "I am proud of my team. Although we did not advance, every member of the team played their best, there is nothing to regret. U23 Vietnam is one of the top teams in the region. We have shown that we can compete with such opponents."

Despite losing the victory to U23 Singapore, U23 Vietnam still tops Group C of the U23 Asian qualifiers. Coach Troussier and his team have 7 points, 1 point more than U23 Yemen. U23 Singapore ranks third after 2 draws and 1 loss. The team from the Lion Island did not qualify for the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers.
