Lam Hung considers Meritorious Artist Vu Linh as the benefactor who helped change his life.
Meritorious Artist My Uyen and singer Lam Hung attracted attention when appearing as guests on episode 50 of the program Vietnamese Family Home.

In the program, both of them overcome challenges to bring the prize money to help three people in difficult circumstances: Thach Hoang Nam (14 years old), Danh Thi Nol (13 years old) and Le Thi Tu Anh (13 years old).
It is known that Thach Hoang Nam currently lives with his mother in Soc Trang. Since childhood, Hoang Nam has not known who his father is. His mother has kidney stones and gallstones and has had surgery 9 times but has not recovered.
Despite her poor health, her mother still tries to do housework and wash dishes every day to earn money to take care of her son. The family currently owes 30 million VND in interest and must pay monthly.
Le Thi Tu Anh’s situation makes many people feel sorry. Currently, the 13-year-old girl is living with her older sister (16 years old) in Hau Giang. Their parents died early due to illness, the two sisters have to depend on each other in a small house built thanks to donations from everyone.
According to the revelation, Tu Anh's older sister dropped out of school to wash dishes for hire to give her younger sister the opportunity to go to school. The 13-year-old girl currently has tonsillitis and does not have the 15 million VND for surgery, so she has to take medicine to control it.
The image of two little girls without parents by their side, relying on each other to live in a small, dilapidated house made MC Quyen Linh choke up.
He said: "The two children are too young to be alone in their own home like that. There are almost no adults around to confide in, share with, and protect them. The older sister is only 16 years old but has to be the breadwinner, even though she earns very little money, she still tries to take care of her younger sister. In fact, the children are trying many times harder than others, very admirable."
Meritorious Artist My Uyen sympathized: "My father passed away a long time ago, before I entered the University of Theatre and Cinema. Not long after that, my mother also passed away.
At that time, I was young, a little older than Tu Anh but still very much a child. To study acting, I had to do all kinds of jobs to support myself, no one took care of me. Even though I had relatives, I understood that without my parents by my side, I had to have the will to strive."
The third case is Danh Thi Nol, who currently lives with her mother in Soc Trang. Nol's father died of lung disease when she was in 4th grade. Her mother's health is not good, she often has high blood pressure and headaches, so she cannot drive to work alone. Currently, her mother is unemployed and has no income.
My house also doesn't have a toilet, so I have to ask my neighbor for help, which is extremely inconvenient. MC Quyen Linh considers these to be difficult problems with answers, it is the ultimate difficulty.
Faced with Danh Thi Nol's difficulties, singer Lam Hung and Meritorious Artist My Uyen contributed 3 million VND to help her and her child pay off the family's debt.
Singer Lam Hung emotionally mentioned the advice of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh when singing.
Coming from hardship, Lam Hung feels very lucky to have the support and sponsorship of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh.
The male singer said: "Each of us has benefactors that we must remember for the rest of our lives. And I feel luckier than the children in the program because I have a great benefactor to help me, the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh - the person who brought me from a train driver to Ho Chi Minh City to study and become the singer Lam Hung today."
Besides luck, Lam Hung also believes that personal effort and perseverance, regardless of the circumstances, is a factor for success.
"What I remember most is the sentence Vu Linh said in the first days when he introduced me to sing: The first time I introduce you to sing, the second or third time people will respect me and accept you, but whether they accept you the fourth time or not depends on your ability. I will always remember that sentence," Lam Hung recounted.
The will to overcome difficulties and the effort from one's own strength are the lessons that the male singer remembers most from Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, and he also applies them to pass on to his children and students.

One time when Meritorious Artist Vu Linh went to the coastal country to sing, a friend of Lam Hung blurted out: "You're so miserable, why don't you try singing a song? Who knows, maybe Vu Linh will like it and let you follow him."
The male singer boldly sang a song, then Meritorious Artist Vu Linh called back and said: "I heard about your family situation, go home and ask your mother". Hearing that, Lam Hung immediately returned home to talk and reaffirmed his previous promise "if I don't succeed in three years, I will come back".
During the three years he followed Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, Lam Hung often borrowed his friend's motorbike to go sing in the evenings. Every night he was paid 50,000 VND, which he used to buy three portions of rice to eat with his friends and was so happy he "cried tears".
Besides his fame, Lam Hung is always proud that up until now he has never been tempted or indulged in stimulants that showbiz people easily come into contact with.
