T&T, SHB and businesses in Mr. Hien's ecosystem donate 20 billion VND to overcome storm and flood damage

Within the framework of the ceremony to present 20 billion VND to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support localities in overcoming damage after the storm, Mr. Do Quang Hien, Founder, Chairman of the Strategy Committee of T&T Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHB Bank shared about the plan to sponsor and help orphaned children and children in special circumstances affected by storms and floods.

On October 9, 2024, at the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, businesses in the ecosystem of businessman Do Quang Hien (including: T&T Group, Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB), Saigon - Hanoi Securities Joint Stock Company (SHS) and Thong Nhat Electrical Engineering Company (Vinawind)) donated 20 billion VND to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support localities to quickly overcome the consequences and stabilize people's lives.

Recently, working groups of T&T and SHB have coordinated with the local Fatherland Front to directly survey and select locations in need of support with the goal of helping people and local authorities rebuild and stabilize their lives after storms and floods. According to the plan, the above support funds will be allocated to build houses, repair schools, civil works, medical facilities... in provinces and cities that were severely damaged after storm No. 3 such as: Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen and some central provinces damaged by storm No. 4.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said that storm No. 3 caused widespread damage in 26 provinces and cities, of which 8 provinces were the most severely damaged and it may take up to 3 years to rebuild. In particular, there were places with huge material and spiritual losses and social impacts such as Nu village and some areas in Lao Cai province.

On behalf of the Party Delegation, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the local people who were supported, Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his sincere and deep gratitude for the noble gestures of T&T Group and other businesses, as well as highly appreciated the special attention of the leaders, employees and workers in the T&T Group system who have always promoted the spirit of sharing love, social responsibility, and contributed a lot to the country's social security work during the past time.

Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, T&T Group and a number of member companies joined hands to support people in the provinces to quickly overcome the consequences caused by storms No. 3 and No. 4. " In the coming time, we hope to coordinate with the Fatherland Front to research and learn more about remote areas where there are currently schools, hospitals, dilapidated houses... to support new construction, helping students go to school. Especially, for children whose parents unfortunately passed away or whose parents are no longer able to work due to the impact of storms and floods, and who have no one to take care of them, we will sponsor and raise them until they go to university" - businessman Do Quang Hien expressed .

Emphasizing the need to “start with the heart”, Mr. Do Quang Hien also hopes to receive the support and guidance of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front so that the Group and businesses can quickly materialize this support resource as well as continue to receive support and companionship in specific social security programs.

Most recently, at the Program to launch support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households nationwide - "Warm home for my people" taking place on October 5, responding to the Prime Minister's call, SHB Bank donated 100 billion VND to Soc Trang province, contributing to completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people nationwide by December 31, 2025 at the latest.
