Along with implementing poverty reduction policies, Tam Nong district has effectively promoted information and propaganda channels. In particular, the grassroots radio system has helped local people access information, gradually change their awareness, and escape poverty sustainably.

It has become a habit that every morning Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Tho Van commune, listens to the commune's radio program at 6 am. He shared: "Every day, I listen to the morning news from the commune's loudspeaker. These news help people promptly grasp new information, especially information about effective farming and livestock models and the market. Especially grasping policies to support poverty reduction, access to loans... Through that, my family boldly borrowed 100 million VND from the bank to invest in growing lacquer trees, contributing to improving and enhancing the family's life".
Previously, the public address system of Tho Van commune had been degraded after a long period of use and was not effective. In 2021, the commune invested in a new information technology - telecommunications application system (smart public address). Accordingly, the system was invested to cover sound in 8 residential areas including 16 clusters with 32 speakers, management equipment, information storage and radio program production (professional hardware and software applying information technology).
Commune radio officer, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen said: “Assigned the task of operating the commune's loudspeaker system, I always follow the principles and effectively. For local news, I edit the content so that people can easily understand and remember. Thereby, everyone can access information quickly, accurately and promptly, especially policies related to poverty reduction work.”
In recent times, Tho Van commune has promoted the dissemination of the Party's policies and the State's policies on sustainable poverty reduction. Thanks to timely information, people clearly understand the policies as well as grasp production techniques, choose crops and livestock suitable to the actual conditions of the family. Comrade Tran Van Dong - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "To bring policies to each household in the area, we focus on dissemination through the grassroots radio system. The advantage of radio is its wide coverage, people can both participate in labor and production and access information. The commune is determined not to let any people be "information poor".
The grassroots radio system is truly a “bridge” to bring the Party’s guidelines and policies and the State’s laws and policies, making an important contribution to the implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction. Currently, the district has 12/12 grassroots radio stations using the information technology broadcasting system. Thereby, promoting better efficiency in transmitting news and propaganda information to the people, contributing to the good work of digital transformation in the district.
To ensure the service of propaganda work, especially propaganda work on flood and storm prevention, the district's Center for Culture - Sports - Tourism and Communications (CTC) has coordinated and urged technical staff of Bac Viet Company assigned to be in charge of Tam Nong district to repair and fix the damage of the receiver system, compression speakers and promptly report on the operation of the grassroots radio station.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Khanh - Director of the Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tam Nong district, with the advantages of timeliness, convenience and wide coverage, the grassroots radio system in the district has played an important role in promptly transmitting information about the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction. Thanks to that, people understand the goals and significance of the policy, avoiding the situation of being passive and waiting for support from the State.
With programs that closely follow life, reflect the socio-economic development situation, good models, effective methods, typical examples,... the grassroots radio system contributes significantly to the implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in Tam Nong district.
