In order to preserve and teach the Dao Nom script in the community, author Phan Huy Thiep sent to the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam", the album "Teaching Dao Nom script", introducing the example of teacher Tan Van Sieu, 60 years old, in Ta Phin Commune - Sa Pa - Lao Cai. The wooden-walled, corrugated-cement roofed house nestled at the end of a small slope on the road to Ta Chai has long been a place to “pass on” the Nom Dao script to many generations of Red Dao youth. Teacher Tan Van Sieu’s Nom Dao script class has always been filled with the humming voices of many generations of students practicing their voices for over 20 years. His Nom Dao speech and writing classes have contributed to the development and expansion of knowledge for local people in particular and the development and preservation of national identity in general.

Nom Dao script has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage. Up to now, statistics from the Lao Cai Department of Culture and Sports show that 466 Dao villages in the province are preserving more than 11,000 books with rich content.
To preserve and sustainably promote the heritage of Dao writing and ancient books, there is no more effective way than opening a Dao Nom class right in the community taught by teachers in the community. Therefore, in addition to the classes opened by the people themselves, in recent times, a number of classes supported by the State have been implemented. The photo and video contest “Happy Vietnam”, organized by the Department of External Information, Ministry of Information and Communications on the website https://happy.vietnam.vn, is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over.
