Promoting entrepreneurial spirit, developing entrepreneurial culture, inspiring enthusiasm, innovation, and aspirations for female students is an issue that needs more attention today.

The above comment was made at the Workshop "Developing an innovative startup ecosystem" on November 13 organized by Le Thi Rieng Secondary School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).

At the Workshop "Developing an innovative startup ecosystem", delegates shared the view that in the era of globalization and digital transformation, innovation is the key for students to be confident and ready to enter the labor market with increasingly high demands. In particular, promoting the entrepreneurial spirit, developing a startup culture, arousing enthusiasm, innovation, and aspirations for female students need to be given more attention.

Dr. Vu Thi Phuong, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, commented: "Female students often face difficulties in the process of starting a business regarding issues such as finding capital, accessing the market, building a brand, and ineffective support from family and school."

Dr. Vu Thi Phuong, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, spoke at the program.

To increase the success rate of female students starting a business, Dr. Vu Thi Phuong proposed some solutions such as: Family plays an important role in career orientation of children, especially female students. Family is the first environment to help with career orientation, spiritual companionship and increase financial support, loan support so that students have the conditions to start a business. On the school side, it is necessary to include in-depth courses on entrepreneurship, including knowledge of business management, business planning, leadership skills, negotiation, problem solving. Courses need to be combined with practice, projects for students to practice and experience. Organize seminars and conferences so that parents understand their role in encouraging their daughters to start a business. There needs to be coordination between schools and businesses to create conditions for female students to access and have practical learning opportunities.

Similarly, Prof. Dr. Vu Gia Hien, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Science and Technology, said: "Female students who want to start a business must first follow the common path of starting a business. However, in addition to the efforts of each person, there must be certain priorities for women, including female students. Currently, the priority of starting a business for students is not clear."

Master Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, also emphasized the importance of soft skills training for students in general and female students in particular to increase the rate of successful startups. Accordingly, in addition to the knowledge trained at school, soft skills such as strength analysis skills, communication skills, risk management skills, etc. need to be equipped by the school from the beginning, helping students practice regularly, every day. Lecturers need to flexibly combine teaching knowledge and equipping soft skills, each profession requires specific soft skills.

"With the ability to analyze strengths, students will understand the advantages and disadvantages to outline specific strategies or risk management skills to help them analyze, overcome difficulties, and handle bad situations during the startup process. To start a business successfully, there needs to be a synchronous solution from the school, businesses, and female students," Master Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh analyzed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, Principal of Le Thi Rieng Secondary School, said at the program: "The workshop had the participation of delegates who are experts in the education sector and scientists. The delegates together assessed the current situation and proposed solutions to develop an open startup ecosystem, linking businesses to lead and nurture startup talents, and encourage female students - vocational education students to develop startup ideas."

On this occasion, Le Thi Rieng Secondary School and College of Technology II also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in training high-tech human resources.

On the same day, Le Thi Rieng Secondary School organized a workshop on "Contributing ideas to the draft of functions, tasks, missions and goals of Le Thi Rieng Secondary School" to record opinions and experiences from experts, thereby more clearly defining the role and development direction of the school in the context of vocational education innovation.
