On November 11, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted opened the week of "Exhibition of postage stamps about the journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps and historical marks of President Ho Chi Minh".
The precious stamp set introduced to students is called "Historical marks of President Ho Chi Minh" by author Nguyen Dai Hung Loc - Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Stamp Association, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Stamp Association.
The stamp set is displayed at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted for students of grades 10, 11, and 12 to visit, study, and learn about Uncle Ho and Vietnamese history as recorded through the stamps.
In particular, the author of the stamp set will directly introduce the stamp set and answer questions from students and teachers related to the stamps and their historical journey.
The stamp collection by author Nguyen Dai Hung Loc will bring students to the content of President Ho Chi Minh's biography, the historical context from when he was born and grew up, from Nghe An to Hue, Quy Nhon, Phan Thiet and to Saigon, when he left to find a way to save the country in 1911.
The stamp set will take students on the journey of Uncle Ho's footsteps from 1911 to 1941: From Nha Rong Port on the legendary French ship, Uncle Ho traveled across 5 continents and 4 seas; Uncle Ho returned to Pac Bo to directly lead the Vietnamese Revolution, leading to the success of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.
Ms. Pham Thi Be Hien - principal of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted - said: "Most students today will not have the experience of pasting stamps and sending them out like before, so stamps may be unfamiliar to them.
However, through the precious stamp collection about Uncle Ho by author Nguyen Dai Hung Loc, the school wants students to explore the stamps associated with the content inside the stamps to understand more deeply about Uncle Ho's journey to find a way to save the country, about the historical journey of our country Vietnam".
Ms. Hien added that the author of this stamp collection will be the one to explain about the stamps. This is a good opportunity for students to understand more about the soul inside the stamps.
“This is very valuable for the students’ experiences. The author of the stamp set is very passionate about conveying to the school’s students the moral ideology of Ho Chi Minh as well as Vietnamese history,” said Ms. Hien.
