On June 29, at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), the national final round and award ceremony of the contest "Vietnamese Children - Reaching out to the world " 2024 took place.
This is one of the annual playgrounds for students from 63 provinces and cities across the country to participate.
Attending the final round and awarding ceremony were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang; Head of the National Foreign Language Project Management Board (Ministry of Education and Training) Nguyen Thi Mai Huu; Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers Nguyen Pham Duy Trang and representatives of departments, agencies, and schools across the country.
Speaking at the final round, Mr. Le Anh Quan, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest "Vietnamese Children - Reaching out to the world", said that the contest is one of the activities contributing to the implementation of the projects "Teaching and learning foreign languages in the nationaleducation system for the period 2017-2025" and "Improving foreign language proficiency and international integration for Vietnamese children and youth for the period 2022-2030" of the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, the contest aims to create a useful playground for students nationwide to participate with the goal of improving social understanding, learning about the cultural beauty of the homeland and country, thereby nurturing national pride and promoting communication skills.
This year, the online qualifying round attracted more than 30,000 students nationwide. After the preliminary rounds, the 16 best teams continued to participate in the final round to find 7 teams to compete in the final ranking round.
In the final round, the teams performed many lively acts such as singing, dancing, martial arts, fashion shows, and presentations in English to introduce the beauty of culture, cuisine, geography, history, religion, tourism as well as the friendly and united relationship between Vietnam and other countries in the world.
As a result, the organizing committee awarded first prize and impressive presentation prize to the team from Nguyen Thuong Hien Primary School (Hai Phong City).
Six second prizes were awarded to the following units: Thien Ho Duong Primary School (Tien Giang province), Le Mao Primary School (Vinh city, Nghe An province), Nguyen Trai Primary School (Hai Phong city), Phan Dang Luu Primary School (Da Nang city), Kim Dong Primary School (Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province) and Trung Vuong Primary School (Hanoi city).
The remaining teams of the final round were awarded third prize.
