Or the first-year receipt of 10th grade students in the 2023-2024 school year of Marie Curie High School (District 3) when submitting admission application includes: Academic publications and publications 120,000 VND/student; electronic contact book (text message) 160,000 VND/student; health insurance 680,400 VND/student, accident insurance 45,000 VND/student.

These schools set their fees when the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has not officially announced the fees for the 2013-2024 school year and the Department of Education and Training has not issued regulations guiding revenue and expenditure at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

Require the school to refund the fees

Regarding the above information, speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters on the evening of July 24, Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the department has information and requires any school that has collected the money to return it to the parents of the students who have paid.

At the same time, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Hoai Nam directed that service revenues to serve and support educational activities other than tuition fees to meet the needs of learners of educational institutions be implemented according to the resolution of the Provincial People's Council.

Specifically, at the meeting in mid-July, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed a Resolution regulating revenue and collection levels, revenue and expenditure management mechanisms for services serving and supporting educational activities of public educational institutions in the 2023-2024 school year.

Therefore, Mr. Le Hoai Nam requested that while waiting for the above Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to be officially issued and take effect and the implementation document of the City People's Committee, units should note not to collect any fees, including temporary collection, before the 2023-2024 school year begins.

On July 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed a resolution regulating revenue and revenue levels, and revenue and expenditure management mechanisms for services serving and supporting educational activities of public educational institutions in the 2023-2024 school year. This is to help the implementation of revenue and expenditure in schools to be public, transparent and have general supervision.

Accordingly, the fee is applied to 2 groups of students: Group 1 is students at schools in Thu Duc City and districts: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan. Group 2 is students at schools in districts: Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be and Can Gio.

Specifically, there are 26 revenues, belonging to 4 main groups, including: Revenues for educational activities outside of regular school hours as prescribed; revenues for educational activities implemented according to approved projects; revenues for services serving boarding activities; revenues to support individual students.
