Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em, Chairwoman of the AISVN International School Council (far left), during a working session with parents and representatives of authorities on the afternoon of March 30.

On the afternoon of April 9, parents of students at AISVN International School said they received a thank you letter and commitment from Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em regarding the amount of money parents contributed to support the school's operating costs after financial instability to maintain the education of nearly 1,200 students until the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Accordingly, in the letter sent to parents by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em, in her role as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the American International School AISVN (AISVN International School), there is the following content:

"First of all, the AISVN International School team would like to sincerely thank parents for always accompanying us in the most difficult times. We hope that with all those precious feelings, the school will have more motivation to soon overcome the current difficulties.

Based on the results of the parent meeting on March 30, chaired by the interdisciplinary working group (Department of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Nha Be District People's Committee) in coordination with the AISVN International School Board, we will resolve current difficulties to bring students back to school soon after the spring break and maintain school operations at least until the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Up to now, we have recorded many valuable contributions from parents who always want to bring the best to their children."

Also in this letter, Ms. Ut Em made a commitment:

"All contributions from parents will be monitored by the interdisciplinary working group and parent representatives for synthesis, management and co-payment for the school's teaching activities as well as transparently disclosed to parents (on the school's bulletin board). When the school implements the restructuring plan, this amount will be refunded by the school or converted into shares."

Ms. Ut Em added: "We are committed to finding the most feasible solutions and are ready to welcome suitable investors to develop AISVN International School further. The original certificate of parents' contributions will be sent as soon as possible."

On the afternoon of April 5, Ms. Le Thuy My Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, chaired a meeting with leaders of the Department of Management of Non-Public Educational Institutions, the Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training, representatives of the AISVN International School Board, and representatives of parents. About 28 parents of AISVN International School students agreed to pay support money to maintain their students' studies, but wondered whether the school would restructure and have a transparent revenue and expenditure monitoring agency?

Talking to parents at the meeting, Ms. Le Thuy My Chau said that recently the city has come up with many plans and chosen a solution that is trustworthy and desirable for parents to let their children continue studying here. Through the number of parents accompanying the school, the Department of Education and Training is monitoring the activities of AISVN International School and the company to ensure the rights of students, teachers and staff.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training emphasized that they have asked investors to have a specific plan for restructuring soon, before May 15. The role of the Department of Education and Training is only to supervise, the important thing is that the personnel must be spent on the right people, announced, and parents' opinions must be sought. The expenses for March and April must be based on actual data, economical, and truly essential.

"The Department of Education and Training's wish is to ensure that students can study. From the perspective of state management agencies, we will accompany, supervise, and guide schools to ensure students' learning. We suggest that schools have a weekly, specific, and detailed roadmap so that parents can be unanimous and join hands during the current period. The school must take action to encourage and reassure the workforce. In the coming time, we hope that parents will continue to contribute their opinions so that together with the Department of Education and Training, agencies, and departments, we can accompany and support the school to overcome the current difficult period," said Ms. My Chau.
