On July 4, the Military School of Military Region 2 held a conference to review the implementation of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA). Colonel Le Van Trung, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Military Region attended and directed the conference. Colonel Pham Van Hao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the School chaired the conference.
At the conference, the opinions discussed focused on a comprehensive and in-depth assessment of the situation and results of the implementation of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army in 1999, which was amended and supplemented in 2008 and 2014. Accordingly, since the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army was promulgated, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the School have led, directed the implementation, organized the serious, strict, synchronous and effective implementation of the provisions of the Law on Officers and the documents guiding the implementation. Regularly pay attention to and take good care of the implementation of military and military rear policies, creating conditions to help cadres and officers feel secure in their work; exemplary in complying with the organization's assignments and mobilizations, ready to receive and fulfill well the assigned tasks and duties.

Accordingly, the opinions suggested that it is necessary to clearly define equivalent positions and titles for all officers in agencies, departments and units to ensure consistency; increase the working age and working time for officers with a military rank ceiling of lieutenant colonel or lower to comply with the Law on Social Insurance; propose to promote military ranks to the rank of lieutenant colonel for teachers with a master's degree. In addition, the opinions also suggested that there should be a policy mechanism to reform salaries for the armed forces in accordance with the requirements of specific tasks and the general development of society. At the same time, it is recommended that Party committees and commanders at all levels pay attention to implementing well the work of reviewing, fostering, training, evaluating, arranging, proposing the transfer, appointment, promotion of military ranks, and salary increases for cadres and officers to ensure strictness and democracy...
