Today, November 17, Hanoi Medical University held a ceremony to announce the decision and award the certificate of quality assessment of university education institutions by the Center for Education Quality Assessment (VNU - CEA Center). At the ceremony, Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of VNU - CEA Center, said that the center highly appreciated Hanoi Medical University for its pioneering innovation in assessing learners.
Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of VNU - CEA Center, presented the decision and certificate of accreditation to Hanoi Medical University.
According to Dr. Hien, VNU - CEA Center has conducted the second cycle of external assessment of educational institutions for Hanoi Medical University based on the set of standards for assessing the quality of university educational institutions issued by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2017 with 25 standards and 111 assessment criteria.
The external assessment team of VNU - CEA Center at Hanoi Medical University decided to give the first score of 6 (out of 33 training institutions that VNU - CEA Center conducted the second cycle assessment) to this university on the criterion of "establishing a system for planning and selecting appropriate types of student assessment during the learning process". The maximum score for a criterion is 7.
Dr. Hien said that the external evaluation team of VNU - CEA Center at Hanoi Medical University, led by Professor Nguyen Huu Duc, highly appreciated the school's pioneering activities in innovative assessment and testing activities in developing training programs.
The good practices of the University in the activities shown in the results of educational quality assessment can be an example for other universities to refer to and follow. This is a special point in the process of educational quality assessment at Hanoi Medical University.
According to Dr. Hien, data updated by the Ministry of Education and Training as of September 30 shows that currently, only 196/246 training institutions (not including schools in the national security and defense sector) have been externally assessed nationwide, of which 186 training institutions have been recognized for quality. Thus, there are still a number of training institutions that have not met the requirements of the standards and criteria issued by the Ministry of Education and Training to be recognized for quality.
Only 80 institutions have been assessed in the second cycle. Hanoi Medical University is one of the few schools that has complied with the 5-year accreditation cycle since the first cycle of quality assessment.
Hanoi Medical University has 13 undergraduate training programs, 38 application-oriented master's training programs, 48 research-oriented master's training programs, 34 specialty I programs, 54 specialty II programs, 39 residency programs, and 40 doctoral programs.
In particular, the specialized training programs and postgraduate training programs are recognized by the evaluation team as having a pioneering role in the medical school system, and are the unique strengths of Hanoi Medical University.
