Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 has just announced a project to organize an independent exam to consider admission to full-time university training in 2025.
Accordingly, the school organizes 8 exams including: Literature, Math, English, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography. Literature exam is in the form of multiple choice combined with essay, the remaining subjects are multiple choice. Regarding the exam time, Literature and Math are 90 minutes, the remaining subjects are 60 minutes.
The test is designed to assess competence, with questions linked to meaningful contexts to measure the manifestations of the assessed competence. The assessed competence is part of the competences formed and developed through the new General Education Program, focusing on the competences required for university study, especially teacher training programs. The content closely follows the general education program at the high school level, mainly in grade 12.
The test question formats are: multiple choice; true-false; matching item with correct answer; short answer.

Hanoi National University of Education 2 plans to organize an independent exam for this admission in June 2025; the location will be at the school and some high schools in Vinh Phuc province (if necessary).
Exam fee is 200 thousand VND/subject/session.
Explaining the organization of its own exam, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 said that 2025 is the year of the first graduating class according to the new General Education Program (designed to form 5 qualities and 10 competencies for students).
Although the structure of the 2025 high school graduation exam issued by the Ministry of Education and Training has some changes compared to before, the main purpose is still to consider high school graduation. Meanwhile, the number of candidates registering for admission to the school has increased dramatically in recent years.
"This reality requires schools to have appropriate enrollment plans to increase input quality," the school stated.
In 2025, Hanoi National University of Education 2 announced the use of 6 admission methods (1 more method than in 2024), including:
- Direct admission and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;
- Admission based on high school graduation exam results;
- Admission is based on high school academic results (transcripts);
- Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi National University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City National University of Education;
- Admission is based on the results of the separate entrance exam organized by Hanoi National University of Education 2;
- Specialized pedagogical training majors such as Preschool Education, Physical Education, and Sports Management use the above methods, but in the admission combinations, the results of aptitude tests organized by the school are used (aptitude test results organized by other higher education institutions are not used).
In 2025, Hanoi National University of Education 2 plans to enroll students by the following methods: direct admission and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; considering academic records; based on high school graduation exam results; results of the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City; results of the school's independent exam.
Last year, the school's benchmark score based on graduation exam results ranged from 15.35 to 28.83 for a combination of three subjects, the highest being History Pedagogy and Literature Pedagogy.
With the method of considering transcripts, the school has 9 majors that take over 29/30 points. The highest is still Literature Pedagogy - 29.8 points, followed by Mathematics Pedagogy with 29.63.
There are currently about 10 aptitude and thinking tests organized by universities nationwide. Of these, the tests of the two national universities and Hanoi University of Science and Technology attract the most candidates and are used by many schools for admission.
